My playtime speaks for itself...

You can hunt wildlife with shovels
You can throw them like spears
You can swing them like a bat
You can clear an entire outpost with only a shovel
You can get a perk that allows you to carry, I am not kidding here, 9 shovels
My shovels thrown per minute, (or STPM) is honestly insane
There is also something about a cult and you need to save people, look the point is there is no better game that allows you to shovel your way to the end as good as what i have played so far.

Far Cry 5 is video game equivalent of junk food. Flashy packaging, cheap (very often on 80-85% discount), easily accessible, provides simple fun but lacks of substance.
I'm not going to go deep into negatives, but i must mention inconsistent tone and poor writing, most of time game is very wacky and attempts to introduce drama simply does't work, antagonist is nowhere near as interesting as Vaas or Pagan Min, and how game brings you to regional bosses from who you escape again and again is just laughable.
When you buy sweet sugary Coke, you know it's full of chemicals and it's not healthy, but it tastes good, that's why you buy it, same thing with Far Cry 5 it's often stupid and not that deep but it's fun to play.
