There’s only one problem, you’re distinctly lacking in the magic department. In fact, this is the first time you’ve become aware of magic’s existence.
The internet as a whole was a huge inspiration for this game, We tried to set out to do something new that hasn’t been done in visual novels before by giving people an open world and focusing on character types and personalities that people really see in the modern day, instead of typical archetypes.
We aren’t afraid to talk about issues like mental health, toxic masculinity, issues of self-identity and discovery, and the more complicated nuances of relationships. The candid and straightforward nature of the game is part of the reason I decided to reach out to you.
The people who play the game really connect with it, and I want to have more people take a look and hopefully get the same impact from the game that the game and the community around it had on us.

这么久了这游戏汉语评测还是没几个啊?那我来写一个吧。
很显然Familiar Travels是一个视觉小说,而且是一个单纯的视觉小说,没有参杂小游戏之类的成分,只有故事。游戏是纯英文的游戏,而且老实说这游戏的英语在我玩过的VN里还算是有些难度的那一档……要玩的话做好心理准备哦。
游戏里你扮演一个人类去一个叫Vanaheim的充满魔法和各种会说话的、来自各个realms的妖魔鬼怪(furry)的地方读研究生。这里的生物都会魔法,唯独你不会,而且这里对于人类世界的信息高度封锁,你要入乡随俗、和这里新结交的同学们好好过日子(同学就长截图里那样儿)。游戏体验主要在和同学们的日常交互上,故事主要有两条线,一条是你同学们的日常琐事,还有一条是小镇中暗涌的政治斗争。
这个VN总的来说故事很不错。大多数时候游戏里所发生的都是一些普通日常,你的这些同学性格迥异,他们都有自己的喜好和作风,同时也有自己内心的脆弱面。虽然题材偏魔幻,但故事更侧重人物关系和情感,这样也就更容易引起玩家的共鸣。事实上也许你也有过这游戏里人物相似的经历呢!你也可以和他们中的一个发展感情,虽然在这款游戏里这不是重点,但确实有这个玩法……游戏里每个人物都有一个和主角谈恋爱和做爱的场景,甚至还有CG。不过别对此太过期待,每个人物CG只有一张,而且谈恋爱的场景只是昙花一现,不太会对之后的流程有什么影响哦。
在玩法方面,这游戏号称自己有一个“true open world with free travel, leading to a different play through every time”,其实呃……他们并没把这个东西做多好。这个“Open world”的意思是在每次玩家开始行动时,都可以打开手机选择Vanaheim的一个地点并传送过去,藉此和该地点的人对话。你可以和你的那几个同学对话,也可以和路人对话,每次的对话都是不同的。通过这个机制,你可以在每天选择和不同的人发展感情,看不同的故事,从而解锁不同的结局。酷,对吧?其实不然,Vanaheim就那么大点地方,你能对话的人并没多少,而且我就直说吧,游戏里总共有八个结局(七个同学各对应一个结局,还有一个真结局),不管你按哪个顺序来对话,你的通关结局只由你好感度最高的那个决定(如果你前七个结局都通关过就会获得真结局)。更无聊的是,你的对话顺序甚至连过渡剧情都不会有丝毫影响,比如你先和kenshi对话6次或一次都不和kenshi对话除了好感度多少以外其实对剧情发展没有影响;你在第二章选择加入TRUTH FRONT或不加入TRUTH FRONT唯一的区别是你以后不能进入TRUTH FRONT的总部了,但如果你触发了Kaj被抓的剧情,在被kaj传送回总部的时候人们还是会把你当成Truth Front的人一样对话……说白了,这个Open World就是个心理安慰罢了,如果你想追一个人就从头追到底吧,或者直接玩Story Mode好了,不然只是浪费时间而已。还有就是这个VN有bug,我有时会遇到字体错误的问题,不过不太严重(这算是我第一个玩出bug的VN……)。最后,每个人物只有五张立绘,虽然这游戏美术不错,但感觉有点偷懒了。
总之,就我而言,这个VN剧情不错,人物个性十足也讨喜,画风清爽好看,玩法只能说……想法值得肯定,但执行得很差。值得好评嘛?俺觉得值。
