Incomparable visual fidelity combined with player agency in a VR journey that feels both real and emotionally stunning. This is not a game, it is an experience with small interaction. You become a part of expedition to Everest.
For me this is the best VR experience so far (and belive me, I´ve tried many!). Comparable to Apollo 11 VR, but I like this one a bit more. Takes approx 0,5 hour. Developer has made a fantastic job. (thank you!)
I only wonder how could somebody make such trip in reality, I red some books, I saw many photos.....but only after VR experience I realized how difficult it must be, nearly impossible in 8000 m.....

Very nice photo-realism experience. It takes about 30 mins to go through the whole experience. Not sure it should have cost $24.00, but I guess it is a good way to introduce people to VR if you have friends over.

I was pretty pumped about this one after reading a bunch of articles online about how amazing it was. It is definitely the best "Experience" VR game I've played, and they did an outstanding job polishing it. I had zero glitchy issues and everything was smooth as butter throughout, and the views are gorgeous from start to finish.
The only aspect of this where I felt a little bit let down was in the lack of immersion. I didn't feel as high up as I thought I would. I didn't get the sensation that my life was at risk and I was really scaling a massive mountain. It was more of a "yeah I guess thats kind of cool looking" feeling. Not what I was hoping for. I wanted to feel terrified by my surroundings, but I didn't, at all.
It's also very short, I was done with it in about 10-15 minutes, and short of showing it to others it is going to be one time experience for me. It's worth buying, but reduce your expectations a bit first.

One can appreciate the admirable work that went into realizing EverestVR. Graphically it is the most technically proficient demonstration of VR to date with gorgeous and surprisingly distant vistas rendered in the Unreal Engine that clearly took considerable resources. At times the visual fidelity is so convincing, I even wanted to take a bite out of an apple at base camp.
Alot of the journey is spent floating above Everest, viewing informational content and engaging in superflous interaction rather than experiencing gripping content. Ultimately EverestVR fails to fully leverage its experiential and interactive potential, though it has some stunning, if fleeting moments, and can illicit a brief bout of vertigo. Be sure to move toward some fellow climbers to hear their past stories.
While I applaud Solfar Studios for their unique effort and hope they build upon it, the cost for the consumer is excessive and difficult to justify. For the time invested, theBlu is a notably superior and consistently impressive VR experience at a fraction of the cost. I appreciate the work Solfar has done and give it a marginal thumbs up, but ultimately it doesn't live up to the heights of the mountain itself.

Let's be blunt - there isn't an awful lot here for the money, even if you take your time you're looking at well under an hour. And what is there is not a game - it's basically an interactive documentary.
On the other hand, it is absolutely stunning. Photorealistic snapshots of various stages of an ascent of Mt. Everest. If you got into VR for the opportunity to explore an entirely new dimension of digital media, then Everest VR is for you. Just make sure you know what you are (and aren't) getting for your hard earned money.

I bought (and returned) the first version of Everest VR to come out - back then it was less polished and way overpriced with way to little content, leading to a lot of disapointing reviews (and my refund) that still haunt the title (even though it is now worth owning). I recently repurchased after seeing it on sale with updates and can vouch for for the fact that it no longer sucks - the experience is now more complete and represents a much more compelling value. I would still like to see better shadows and more photogrometric detail at the human scale, however, it now offers the kind of powerful mind-expanding experience that outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers should own - if you are on the fence, dont let all the bad early reviews deter you...

Looks great - awesome sense of scale - unique use of room scale. I've played nearly 100 VR games and this is the first experience to trigger my fear of heights.
This is very similar to Apollo 11 in terms of time to complete and what to expect (a little hands on - mostly narration).
While I am leaving a positive review, be aware this is not a game. You will only have hands on for about 5mins. The entire experience took 15-20mins. I was hoping God mode would allow me to visit areas but I was only able to hover over the various areas. Will re-look at this again.
I would expect this to be about half the price.
