I have been playing through several fishing games I got through an old Humble Bundle recently. This game to me feels like an upgraded version of The Catch: Carp and Course. As I got more comfortable with the mechanics I found myself enjoying the gameplay a decent amount.

Good fishing game that feels way better than the old fishing games from the 90s. I like the many different lakes here, really nicely designed... went out to get them all. The render engine is not as advanced as the more newer versions from Dovetail, but this one still does its job OK. Can't really blame that as the price is reasonable. One thing to nitpick is the structured matrix like UI that you must use to unlock rods, reels, hooks, baits, etc. Didn't like this implementation. Otherwise, a good game that runs well on lower-end systems and its really great to pass time.
