Good puzzle game, much like its predecessor, but the secret levels (and the related secret entrances to find) are 50% strictly-timed puzzle and 50% nightmare platformer, and a couple of them really made me consider tearing my testicles off.

The puzzles in "Escape Goat 2" are not brain melting by any standard but they still provide a nice mix of timing and thinking. I enjoyed how all the puzzles were one screen as it lent to more creative and focused level design. The game mechanics were well taught and I never forgot about any of my moves since everything is used so frequently. Cameron likey. 3/5

i love this game so much, it's the perfect amount of platformer to puzzle. you usually enter a room completely baffled by how this is supposed to be solvable, then 15 minutes later you feel like a genius

My recommendation: If you're a big fan of puzzle platformers, get this game. If you're a small fan, wait for a sale. As an old game, it goes on very deep sales.
Solid game all around. The puzzles are nice, the art looks good and the soundtrack is fantastic (and free on Bandcamp!)
As for negatives: The game isn't that hard until you get to the halway point (and it gets even harder with the secret rooms. Those are fun to find!). Also be aware that the puzzles aren't as "lean" as they could be. There's sometimes elements of the level that don't serve a clear purpose. I guess that's a symptom of the game's age.

Overall a really nice little puzzle platformer and a good sequel to the original. Good amount of content, decent level design. A little challenging in places but on the whole the game is on the easier side (excluding the secret levels). Great soundtrack, as usual for this developer. The writing is enjoyable, even if it's just a few lines of dialogue. It's a small thing but the sound and visuals for the mechanisms shifting positions in the levels is something I always found really satisfying in the original Escape Goat, and that's the case here as well.
I did find the platforming to be a bit frustrating in a few places. And, like in the original Escape Goat, some of the levels can be cheesed. But these were minor blemishes on an otherwise charming and worthwhile game.
I completed all of the non-secret levels in 6 hours and stopped there, I've not got the patience for hunting down the secrets levels which, from what I've seen, are very difficult and also very well hidden with no hints.

I'm a sucker for one-room puzzle games & this hits the spot. There are a handful of secret rooms I didn't finish yet. Plays great on Steam Deck. Don't know why it is goat-themed, but that's definitely a plus.

Some of the timing/speed based levels were a bit frustrating, but apart from that, this was a fun experience.
