Create your own Legend Another sunrise, another day of toil. Food must be grown, industries built, science and magic advanced, and wealth collected. A fact that has also been true for the previous five. As you discover the lost secrets of your world and the mysteries of the legends and ruins that exist as much in reality as in rumor, you will come to see that you are not alone. Other peoples also struggle to survive, to grow, and perhaps even to conquer. You have a city, a loyal populace, and a few troops; your power and magic should be sufficient to keep them alive. But beyond that, nothing is certain… Where will you go, what will you find, and how will you react? Will your trail be one of roses, or of blood?

Endless Legend ist ein zeitloses Meisterwerk des Fantasy-4X-Genres das auch Jahre nach Release absolut fesselt. Das Spiel spielt auf dem frostigen Kontinent Auriga einer Welt voller Geheimnisse uralter Zivilisationen und einzigartiger Fraktionen.
Die größte Stärke ist die atemberaubende Vielfalt der Fraktionen. Jede spielt sich radikal anders ob die technologiegetriebenen Vaulters die Ressourcen sammelnden Wildwalker oder die mystischen Ardent Mages. Ihre Geschichten und Siegbedingungen sind kreativ in das Gameplay verwoben. Die Mischung aus klassischem 4X-Aufbau und RPG-Elementen wie Heldenleveln und epischen Quests gibt dem Spiel eine einzigartige Tiefe.
Die rundenbasierten Kämpfe auf Hexfeldern sind taktisch anspruchsvoll und visuell bezaubernd. Die Kunstrichtung mit ihrem melancholischen Comic-Stil und der fesselnde Soundtrack schaffen eine unvergleichliche Atmosphäre.
Allerdings hat das Spiel eine steile Lernkurve die Neueinsteiger überwältigen kann. Die KI neigt auf höheren Schwierigkeitsgraden zu unfairen Boni und die Diplomatie wirkt manchmal undurchsichtig.
Fazit: Endless Legend ist ein einzigartiges und tiefgründiges 4X-Spiel das jeder Strategiespiel-Fan erlebt haben sollte. Wer sich auf die komplexen Mechaniken einlässt wird mit hunderten Stunden fesselndem Gameplay und einer unvergesslichen Welt belohnt.

Not a bad game as other people are saying
Positive:
- monsun weather has impact on the world and the low tide concept invites you to keeps scouting, discovering new stuff and you are fighting with other players who claims first over a long gaming time.
- technologies are split into different phases. This allows direct access (not like a technology tree) to all technologies from the phase without deciding early if you invest in military or economy.
- each fraction has its own story (quest) line. You are free to complete the quests but the rewards are worthy to do so especially if you are finishing the full story.
- the heroes and their level and items have a huge impact on the battle. Takes some time to understand the different classes and abilities. The weapon items bring also new skills. Some learning curve is needed to have success in battles which you should normally not win. Heroes, good skill tree levelling and good positioning makes it possible. Definitively the part where endless legend shines most.
- the monsters spawning from the rifts and threatening your base are a very great idea. Want more of it.
Negative:
- needs a lot of balance
- town progession with different districts still a bit boring. More like a puzzle system would be better. Number of districts in late game are limited since price is getter higher with every district until you have to build like 100 rounds for one district.
- Needs more fractions
- need a lot of bug fixes. Many quests could not be completed.
- UI is a bit overcrowded
Overall: Game still needs some developing time and is in early access. Wait for a good discount and give a try.

*** (of 5) This is a civilization-like game in a fantasy world with various tribes with different stories. Unfortunately you have to read all those stories and the playout of your move takes quite some time. For my current life situation it uses up too much time to get into it. So I'll save it for when I have more time. Until then it gets deinstalled.

Wieso sagen eigentlich alle Humandkind hätte bei CIV abgeguckt - offentsichtlich hat es hier abgeguckt....

Etwas kniffliger Einstieg, ist eine ganze Ecke komplexer als CIV. Das Tutorial könnte mehr und besser erklären. Wenn man aber erstmal verstanden hat, wie es funktioniert und was die ganzen Zahlen bedeuten.. Grandioses Spiel! Habe keinerlei technischen Probleme mit dem Titel. Stimmungsvoll und 1001 Möglichkeit, sich im Science-Fantasy Sandkasten zu behaupten.
