A seemingly simple game idea but fantastically rich in execution. The complexity builds at a good rate. The game also strikes a great balance between fun and cerebral puzzle solving. An excellent game.

Loved the game, albeit I've been frustrated more than I care to admit on my journey to 100%. Simple to play, difficult to master. Took me about 25 hours to 100% seeing as all tracks are required to be S+. If you're impatient or easily irritable, stay clear, lol.
In all seriousness, it's a lovely game.

Not a bad game. For very cheap it'll provide a good number of hrs of entertainment. There's actually a bit of skill involved once you start getting to the later levels. There's also quite a lot to challenge yourself with after just finishing the levels you can go for collecting all prisms, or going for an S rank etc. A fair bit of depth to a cheap game. Some of the later, more difficult levels might test your patience though as there seems to be a fair bit of unpredictability with what's going to happen in the level which leads to some pretty inevitable deaths. Hey you're not going to know this is coming, so die and learn from it sort of thing. Overall though, a mostly enjoyable, cheap game.

fun little platformer that gets you hours of gameplay for a very cheap price. great soundtrack but play with a controller.

Played the game on the 3DS a long time ago, looks great in high resolution but some UI elements like the minimap are too small. Soundtrack is 10/10 but the gameplay might be too simplistic for some.

A classic. A simple game at its core, but a showcase and testament to the raw beauty of the art of game design. EDGE demonstrates that you don't need many intricate and complex systems, nor breadth of mechanics, nor even a highly visually/aurally stimulating experience to make something great. It just takes a little ingenuity to craft variations on a theme to make a lot out of a little. It shows that the quality of a game is not so much tied to what or how many mechanics are in a game, but how intelligently and creatively they are applied and integrated through level design. EDGE's foundational approach to its design begins intelligently by combining a well balanced mixture of timing skill and puzzle solving...It isn't a pure puzzle platformer in that it also requires skill from the player. The skillset required is also elegantly simple and contextualized through a basic arcade rank system. Even though the scoring system only involves completion time, how many times you die, as well as how many optional "gems" scattered through a level that you pick up, that's all it needs to offer the potential for skill and puzzle solving mastery to those who prefer score/rank challenges. No element in EDGE feels superfluous, but it knows exactly what unique elements video games offer that no other medium can and how to effectively apply them.
