Duke Nukem Forever

Duke Nukem Forever w okolicach premiery był przez wielu określany jako crap. Moim zdaniem nie zasługuje na to miano mimo, że w pewnym sensie rozumiem rozgoryczenie fanów serii którzy oczekiwali gry trzymającej poziom legendarnego poprzednika a otrzymali produkt co najmniej średni. Gra w 2011 roku szokowała niskim poziomem wykonania i mam tu na myśli głównie grafike. Fabularnie i gameplayowo było poprawnie i tylko tyle. Osobiście nie odebrałem księcia aż tak negatywnie a to dlatego, że nie grałem w poprzednika i zwyczajnie nie mialem wygórowanych oczekiwań. grało mi się ok, choć zdawałem sobie sprawe z tego ,że nie jest to produkt z wysokiej półki. Obecnie ogrywam ten tytuł po raz trzeci i (sam sie sobie dziwie) gra mi sie całkiem przyjemnie. Strzelanie jest wykonane poprawnie, gra oferuje wiele dodatkowych czynności (bilard, cymbergaj, pisanie na tablicy itp) ale również nawiązania do innych gier takich jak Halo. Fabularnie nie ma szału, ot kosmici po raz kolejny atakują ziemie i porywają kobiety wiec Duke rusza na ratunek. Jeśli nie oczekujecie zbyt wiele a interesuje was strzelanka ze sporą dawka humoru i wieloma urozmaiceniami to mogę ten tytuł polecić. Duke Nukem Forever to całkiem grywalny średniak.

Firstly, I can recommend playing this game, only to see that it can be actually fun. However, when it comes to quality, it is closer to Postal 2 than Doom 3 (or any other shooter).
As I say, if you are a fan of Duke, give it a try. If not, I don't see big reason to play.
Here are problems I noticed:
- Shooting sometimes feels awkward. Maybe because impact of the weapons is not well shown, blood splatters on environment is not visible, which does not match the action. It is like Witcher 3 is a first league of this kind of thing and Duke tried it as a hobby. Limbs ale falling off like bricks. You feel like shooting moving toys. When action is more intense it is less visible but I feel like playing censored version.
- Level design is not perfect. You don't have indicators where to go (which is good for many). Environment is created like giving you multiple possible ways but most of them are invisible walls, hidden behind object which guy, like Duke, could pass without thinking.
- Fighting bosses is not as epic as intended. Due to overall sloppiness of gameplay, bosses are dying easily. I can say, that they look quite good but scenes are poorly directed.
- When it comes to whole game. It looks like they had decent enemy models, original ideas but they had to mix all the ingredients quickly and push it to the market without polishing.
So what is good in this game?
- Voice actor for Duke.
- Markers
- Microwave in the kitchen
- Pinball game
- Cueball and comments on your play
- Big poseable Duke figure.
- Graphics. You can tell it sometimes looks worse than some 2004 games but some of the places are interesting. I hate vents in this game but they look almost perfect.
In short words, all the fun part which cannot by found in other games. Possible, there will be no other modern game, depicting things as Duke Nukem Forever depicted.
So what DNF gave players? Interactivity (and some other stuff) which was a big part of original game.
And what DNF didn't gave? Decent shooter. It is hard to say that shooting in this game is good enough. But ask yourself, why you played Postal 2? And ask players, why they did like Duke Nukem 3D? I believe, that DNF is more for those, who played Duke 3D only to give money to the dancers, from time to time.

Dobra gra, ale szybko się nudzi (dozobaczenia duke za 2 tygodnie jak mi się za chce grać)

Fantastic game. Maybe the graphics aren't very good and the jokes aren't top-notch, but you can't get bored here. There is quite a variety of guns and the game is treated with a pinch of salt. It's impossible to get bored here.

Świetna gra, dużo zabijania, dużo picia piwa i dużo cycków, polecam.

Może dla niektórych to gó*no, ale ja akurat dobrze się przy tej grze bawiłem
