I'm really enjoying this game - it had a few noticable shortcomings but within 2 days of posting my original review they were addressed and are no longer applicable. I'm extremely impressed by the responsiveness of the developer.
It's a very stylistic and juicy game, with a wide variety in modes - most of these are inspired by racing games, such as championships, time attacks and single races. The aesthetic is polished and minimalist.
I love the racing teams aspect, it's a little reminiscent of LEGO's Drome Racers theme back in the day. I'd love to see more lore and a more fleshed out world.
It uses SRS, and is a good implementation of it.
There is also no hold piece - I can respect this as a game design decision, but it's stripped down in many ways without adding much of its own flair (boost simply clears the board and boosts drop speed, and does not feel particularly rewarding). I think in it's current state it would benefit from a hold piece, but it could also take this a different direction and deviate from the Tetris formula.
Punishing pressing buttons before the start is interesting - usually in other Tetris games I'll begin by holding down a button to charge the DAS so the piece is in the right place as soon as the game starts.
I'd love to see this taken in a direction where it gained more player interaction. As it stands it's very much single player, but it would do well with an online VS, or some kind of asynchronous multiplayer mode similar to the old LEGO Drome Racing Challenge.
A worthwhile way to spend some time and a low asking price make this an easy game to recommend.

Great tetris with a nice race concept introduced in this classic game.
For the fans of tetris this is one is a must!

I'm not a fan of Tetris. I can only play Tetris for a minute or so before getting bored and frustrated. Drop Racing is an interesting spin on Tetris. I was unsure if I would accept the game because many games I receive I never review and this game is essentially a Tetris spinoff. If you're a fan of Tetris, you'll love Drop Racing. Full controller support. Very easy difficulty to very hard difficulty. You essentially race against bots which are the race cars in completing the most lines. There are several songs you can choose to play to, and several different courses. I enjoy this over Dr. Mario which was my previous favorite. I believe there are 57 achievements. Of course, this is just Tetris, but a very competitive Tetris.

The game's speed control alone and the focus on dropping piece sequences instead of points/lines, makes this a new experience for long time Tetris players, with a different approach to the game's goal whilst maintaining a similar gameplay.
