About the Game
Experience what it means when you combine classics like Unreal Tournament and Descent and spice them up with fresh ideas from creative game developers and a dedicated community. Give it a chance:
… and decide if you want to support this game!
DRONE, in its core, is a multiplayer arena shooter. The gameplay is centered around fast paced aerial combat in spectacular scifi arenas. But wait, there is more: Create and manage complex remote controlled battle vehicles that fit your playstyle. Anything from tiny drones that fit through the smallest gaps for stealthy hit and run strategies to tanky behemoths with devastating firepower are possible. What you want to create and how you want to play is up to you! During early access the possibilities will increase frequently, for example ground based vehicles are on our roadmap.
There is also a very powerful arena editor alpha build available to play around with. When all core features of the game are ready the arena editor will be integrated directly into the game, opening up a whole universe of user created content, from the community, for the community.
DRONE is currently in a successful ongoing on-site crowdfunding campaign. We promise to complete the game and we have proven that we have what it takes to do so.
By purchasing the game in early access, you are supporting the development of DRONE and getting the “Traveler” crowdfunding tier unlocked for you. Among other perks, this tier grants you full access to all features as they are developed and, of course, you will have the final game once it’s done.
Not our conquest of space. Not our level of civilization. Not art or philosophy. Not even our scientific progress as such… when the first contact fleet of the Interstellar Committee of Advancement & Integration (ICAI) darkened the skies above the UN headquarters in New York 2137, the motivation for their intervention was clear cut: we were deemed a beast with tools and habits too dangerous to be left alone.
And to a subset of civilizations in the galaxy that meant: READY FOR THE GAME.
Warfare out there had become a regulated affair long ago. A ritual. A kind of sport. A source of entertainment backed by a vast and complex industry. Disputes over resources and territory, even the appropriation of some technology were no longer the subject of messy and uncontrollably destructive conflict. Such commodities would often become the formal prizes of tournaments, fought on a variety of natural and artificial stages all over the galaxy by teams representing companies, nations, a planet, an entire species… or just themselves.

This game runs without any issues on proton, but the demo doesn't.
Great game with a way more advanced editor than others in the genre. Still has some rough edges and a confusing new player experience, but editing and flying are top notch once you get the hang of it.

Awesome game, the gameplay is smooth and highly responsive. The devs are super into its development. There are times when you really feel you are in a sci-fi movie. The graphics and performance are outstanding. The thing that I would like is to increase the base speed for the drones in about 15%

The Next-Gen Indie game.
This game sure has potentials, all the features being added during its developement are 100% accurate by watching the Trailers.
With the ingame Drone Editor it is the first game offering a complete new freedom into the building world.
More features are being added and so far I can honestly say it's a lot of fun!
About optimizations: I play in full quality (all set to max), FPS cap to 60 or 144 depending on which computer I'm using.
With the 1080GTX and a processor i7 4.2Gh I can touch 184 FPS in Multiplayer with other players connected while recording in full HD at 50mbps, streaming on Discord and hosting the in-game server.
By lowering just a little bit the graphic (ie.: from Very high to High) I can reach 144fps on a laptop gaming with a 1060GTX (Mobile) and a 2.2Gh 6 cores processor.
Highly recommended.

If you enjoyed the old Robocraft (pre-lootbox) this is the better version.
So buy it.
Purchasing this game as of now is like a 7.5/10 idea, If the developers abandon the game in its entirety or forego the original vision of the finished product it could be a crappy Robocraft clone. But, if they stick to the plan it'll become an absolute bomb of a game, but it's pretty cheap and the gameplay is actually really fun so as of now I'd just go ahead and buy it.
Because I did.

I am going to recommend the game just to say something to the devs. The game is a good, solid foundation with lots of potential to expand. The drone editor is great, the maps and map editor can be great with some tweaking. My only gripe is the price, because of the small dev team, small indie game footprint that the game has, people never end up paying the full $30 AUD for the game. This has caused the player base to be extremely low and as im sure the sales to be extremely low aswell. Without a price reduction, I can never see this game taking off further then it is now whether from lack of funding from low sales or a dead playerbase. Please, please devs lower the price so that the game can bring in a higher playerbase.

I found it on steam and watched into some Videos on YT, felt amazed and bought it, because I trust FSI (FiveStudioInteractive) to be better as those money-focused Companies, who forgott their customer. The state of quality atm speaks for it, it's in state 0.x.x and more ready to get played as those recurrent AAA-Title.
The vibe of the menu, the items and sounds are kinda like Unreal Tournament!
The gameplay is fast to learn (I play on KB/M) but hard to master - what I mean by that is the coordination in a 3 dimensional room with the pressure of getting attacked and finding items to destroy and survive.
For me this could be the next competitive Title like RL, CSGO, RB6 & co.

Fun idea, cool concept and mechanics. But can't play anything because no one wants to go through the MASSIVELY taxing ordeal it is to: make an account, login, validate the account, login -- YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO PLAY THIS GAME UNTIL YOU LINK YOUR STEAM ACCOUNT -- then login and re-login in between EVERY STAGE. Only to find no one's playing (I realize it's still early access, I'm more disappointed than incredulous or critical). You have a cool concept. It may turn out to be the next E-Sport, but your validation protocol has me pressing uninstall.
I did start a server and play around. It's easy to pick up, but I can see where you'd need amazing reflexes; it has great potential for a high skill ceiling and enthralling gameplay - both as a player and a viewer. I really think you have something here. But I'll come back when there're more players; if I'm going to practice by myself, I'd rather it be in Rocket League.
