I've been playing a few similar games lately, and this one "feels" better than the others. What do I mean? If 0 is actual vacuum and 10 is a lake on the Earth's surface, the other games feel like about a 5 or 6 in terms of inertial dampening. I had to spend whatever fuel that movement required to get up to speed and was then almost immediately slowed to a stop. In contrast, Drift feels like about a 0.5. The slowdown is there, but it's gentle enough to believe that I'm in a particularly dense gas cloud in space rather than an actual liquid. The "fuel" (gas and, later, energy) is harder to come by, but it feels like it should be.
The exploration is interesting and it's fun to slingshot my way through the rock field.
The dev is very responsive to feedback and I've seen hotfixes go out within hours of a bug report more than once.
I suspect I'm near the end of this playthrough, but I'll definitely be back later.

I truly haven't felt this engaged in a survival crafting game the way I am in Drift in years (Probably since Minecraft or Terraria). I won't say it's exactly what I want, but it gets SO close to it. Also, the development team is so wonderful, they deserve all the love their players are giving them.

I loved playing this game. I am looking forward to the updates. The only issue I had with it was that there was not enough of it in EA.
