💬 Supportive Caveat
This recommendation comes from a place of genuine support for creators making M/M games. Even when a title feels rough or unfinished, I believe it matters that someone is trying to build stories for us in this space. Dorm Days clearly represents real effort and intention, but it also feels like it needs more polish, clearer progression, and fuller development to reach its potential. I’m glad it exists, and I hope the developer continues refining their work and growing from it.
🎮 Gameplay & Genre
Dorm Days is a light RPG/dating sim hybrid where you choose locations around campus each day and see what events trigger. In theory. In practice, many locations lead to nothing happening, and you’re frequently sent back to your dorm with no feedback. There are no achievements, which already makes this feel less finished than it should.
🔥 M/M Content
This is fully M/M focused, which I appreciate. I was able to unlock some sex scenes for one character, but others felt oddly inaccessible or unclear. It’s hard to tell whether I missed conditions, chose wrong locations, or if content is simply underdeveloped. The MC is strictly a top, which feels culturally specific and limiting, and may not work for everyone.
🎨 Visuals & Style
Simple 2D art with a clean, serviceable look. Nothing offensive, nothing particularly striking. The scenes that are present are decent, but there’s a sense that more was planned than actually made it into the game.
🗣️ Tone & Writing
The writing is understandable but shallow. It gets the job done, but emotional depth and character development are thin. This is the second game from this developer that feels structurally unfinished rather than conceptually flawed.
👍 Best Thing
It’s an earnest attempt at an M/M college-life game, and you can feel the time and effort that went into building the systems and environments.
👎 Worst Thing
Unintuitive progression. Too many empty days. No achievements. Content feels partially locked behind opaque conditions, making it unclear whether you’re missing something or the game is.
⭐ Final Verdict
I’m conflicted. Dorm Days isn’t bad, but it feels incomplete and poorly signposted. I don’t want to discourage the developer, because there’s real work here, but it needs clearer structure and more depth. Worth a look if you’re patient and curious, but don’t expect a smooth or fully realized experience.
