A new kind of gameplay i just discovered with dont_forget_me.
Love the artistic direction, OST and dialogs !
It's a little game you can finish in 2 hours +, but you definitely want to rerun.
Story is great too, and you really feel like a part of it.

Tl;dr: It's a good text puzzle game with cyberpunk aesthetics, but with very heavy topics. Trigger warning for suicide, manipulation, alcohol and drug use, physical and mental violence, murder, blackmail.
This game needs a more prominent trigger warning. My original review stated that there wasn't a trigger warning, but the devs point out that there was one on the Steam page, but it is located at the bottom with the System Requirements. I never even thought to look there, because I personally only look at the game summary and description of games. There is currently no trigger warning mentioned in the Steam page game summary, description nor in-game.
Above point aside, I personally liked the game, the aesthetics, the puzzle elements and concept, and the stories all made it a good game. The story gets quite heavy though and if I realised that, I would have better prepared myself for the game. Other people talked about a lack of mouse support. While it isn't too bad without mouse support, the game sure would have benefited from it.
I recommend this game if you like text puzzle games and slow paced games (there's a lot of dialogues!), and of course, if you are able to handle heavy topics.

This game would be a 10/10 if not for the short gameplay and weirdly abrupt ending. This game definitely could have benefited from a little more world building and a few more puzzles. Each story told was incredible and felt very real. I played this game on stream and my chat helped me make decisions (which definitely impact the game!) so if you're a streamer looking for a short game to play, this one works for sure! It takes a minute to get a hang of the puzzle mechanics but overall, I think this game just needed one or two more puzzles to make it feel worth the $14.99 price tag.
Also, heed the content warning. This game gets HEAVY.

i really loved this game and it kept me hooked the whole time! the storyline is great and the gameplay is interesting because it really makes you think and it's unlike any other game i've played before. it is a little short but at least the whole game was good. i do hope they somehow add more content one day

Interesting setting, story and gameplay.
Could have used more content and slower buildup.
Player character feels kinda random, I hoped their role is explained.
Unique and good game overall, I would definitely play more from this.

Bought it thinking it's a cyberpunk point-and-click but it turned out to be a graphical novel with branching paths instead. I normally don't like this genre but Don't Forget Me is surprisingly good. It's too short to recommend at it's retail price, but consider picking it up when it's on sale if you like an engaging story.
The narrative / graphical novel genre is filled with games that have poor writing that is either simplistic emotional (like To the Moon) or barely philosophical, filled with lengthy dialogues and monologues focusing on ethics and morality (like 2064: Read Only Memories). I tend to stay away from this genre for this reason. Don't Forget Me does have some lengthy dialogues about ethics but luckily keeps it concise enough that it doesn't completely destroy the pacing. And because of the branching paths it even has replay value.
Don't Forget Me is criminally short, the end feels rushed. Clearly the developers didn't get the memo after what happened with Mass Effect 3's ending. It's a pity that so many writers forget to make your branching paths relevant at the end, opting instead to just give you direct options for how you want to end the game. Don't Forget Me also does this, but it's actually worse if you can believe it or not. A satisfying ending would have been nice.
I think it's great that Don't Forget Me found a way to make graphical novels work, at least for me. Hopefully the devs try it again and improve on the formula. Like giving us better input controls, branches that actually impact the finale. The ending sets up a sequel so hopefully we'll see one soon.

The game's not too complex to understand and has charming writing and artwork. The themes do stray into darker topics but it never becomes overpoweringly sad.
My first playthrough took about 2 hours and whilst the menus were a bit difficult to understand, in general the game is good at conveying its information. Only real complains I have is that the side characters and ending might have needed a bit more time to feel fleshed out, the translation could be a bit off at times and that the hidden code used to discover 'who was behind everything' felt a bit too difficult to find.
I'd recommend if you're a fan of some puzzles and a nice dynamic between the two main characters.
