Disinfection
The nano-machines that have been empowering humanity’s technological progress have started to malfunction, corrupting both machine as flesh.
Now it is up to you and your teammates, hired by the military, to deal with this growing threat to humanity. Good luck, astronaut…
– Each ship you enter is different, with a different kind of infection plaguing it and each mission will have different objectives.
– Be quick on your feet and adapt to unexpectedly changing situations as you identify and destroy the infection.
– Survive, but should you fail you may find your consciousness persisting within the infection itself, giving you a second chance.
– You may be tasked with repairing infected ship systems, either by using tools at your disposal or from beyond the grave.
– Some ships contain important items that need to be recovered, you best get to them before the infection does.
– There may still be survivors on the ship, find and escort them back to safety, lest they become one of the infection’s many abominations.
– You will be watched, you will be hunted. Each monstrosity is vastly different from the last, requiring a different approach to avoiding or escaping them.
– The ship around you is slowly being corrupted, causing malfunctions in ship systems, oxygen deprivation, fire and explosions.
– Your suit protects you against the vacuum of space, but only for so long.

Didn't expect much going in, but the game turned out to be pretty decent.
The game is very similar to Phasmophobia but varies in some ways.
When the nanobot monster attacks you, it will lower your suits integrity. Upon 0, it's next attack will kill you.
Using multiple tools, you must find the infection and depending on what tools get a response, you will be given a procedure to destroy it. The procedure is usually 'go to location X, use tool Y'
Currently once the nanobot monster attacks, I dont think there's a way to avoid it? So you may end up having a teammate with better suit integrity taking a tactical hit.
Some downsides. The monster is limited to one model and one type of attack. Hopefully they can add more in the future. The attack animation from your POV is pretty decent, but from another players it looks a bit silly. The shadow of the monster as it approaches you is a bit basic as well.
Some areas of the map can be blocked by the maps procedural generation.
Audio quality for in-game comms was good though, would prefer proximity chat even though that doesn't make much sense.
Overall, I enjoyed it, the game has a good start and with time could be really fun to return to.

I didn't know what to expect going into this but the concept of horror in space is always fun to me.
I think the game is very good at building atmosphere and a sense of unease, I really like how randomised the layout of each map is and very much enjoy how the scares of the game go.
What I will also say is I really like the monsters design and how it attacks, I've not really seen many games do it this way and look forward to seeing more variation and additions t how it works.
The core game play loop is quite an easy and simple one to get into and makes for quite a fun re-playable experience. Its still early days for this game but I really enjoy the ground work and concepts it shows off so far, I really look forward to more of what it will do in the future!
My only real complaint is that it can be a little hard to see whats going on inside of the helmet some times and that the view bob can also be a little much at times, otherwise a very solid game!

This game clearly needs work to be playable but it has good potential to be a awesome game if everything is improved. I haven't played long clearly but i intend to wait for this game to make more progress and see if it can become something great. The ideas are there.
Two biggest problems for me is the helmet covers most the view of what your holding and moves in a unnatural way whenever i walk in any direction; Its very disorienting. its also unclear what im holding and have on me. The wrist info is cool but the evidence PDA isn't easy to use or clear.
Its probably a temporary thing but the voice acting isn't good and they tutorial voices play over each other when you naturally keep checking things out while it talks. Needs to be fixed
Keep working on it and don't be afraid to redesign. The ideas you have are solid

Got this during the sale for myself and a friend, not too bad.
It's definitely early in development but I'm stoked to see where it goes based on the public roadmap.
PROS:
- The tutorial is incredibly helpful to familiarize yourself with the game, starting a mission without first doing the tutorial is only going to cause you problems.
- Tool/Weapon info on the PDA is available in case you forget what something does.
- I like that the monster attacking you doesn't always mean you die and instead lowers suit integrity and gives you another chance, although sometimes it can still cause death due to other factors like O2.
- The randomly generated maps are a nice, although sometimes disorienting, touch. Sometimes it can occasionally put the infection source right next to the entrance, which can either be comedic or horrifying depending on the readiness of the team.
CONS:
- The randomly generated maps can get a little crazy at times, to the point where the infection source is incredibly far away and can make it incredibly difficult to tackle in the case of O2 leaks. I've spent more time looking at my O2 than looking for the infection at times.
- Some controls feel clunky or obtrusive, like the PDA controls locking out your movement when in use since it uses the WASD keys. I assume this is supposed to be in similar fashion to Phasmophobia-types where you open a menu to select evidence and otherwise can't do anything until closing the menu, but the fact that it's a PDA on your arm and the STATS section of it doesn't lock your movement while the evidence section does just makes it feel awkward. These ARE still separate sections though, as the H key opens the STATS section and J opens the evidence section, so maybe it's just me.
- Changing video settings in-mission seems to crash the game at times.
- The head-bobbing and mouse sensitivity is at times too much. Although it looks like the head-bobbing is being addressed next update, and thankfully the mouse sensitivity can be adjusted in the settings. The default sensitivity is incredibly high, so I had to turn mine way down.
- The flashlight functionality being tied to the suit integrity makes it incredibly difficult to play in the cases where your integrity is low, power/lights are out, you're out of glowsticks, and you still need to finish the mission or otherwise navigate the ship. You're essentially walking in the dark with a faulty strobe light. It's not necessarily adding to the horror theme, just annoying and disorienting. It would be better if suit integrity could be restored, the flashing dialed down, or if alternate lighting devices could be used such as a handheld flashlight for when your suit's light fails and you run out of glowsticks.
Additionally, and I'm thankful even though this is probably unintentional, the flashing effect only applies to your own suit flashlight. So if you have a buddy, the two of you can use the light from the other player to navigate.
- O2 is a nice touch, but it would better if there was a way to replenish it out in the ship in the case that the entrance is too far away during an O2 leak and the oxygen scrubber infection just smacked you around a bit and took 75% of your oxygen. My suit integrity was high-enough to withstand the attack, but my O2 didn't last long enough to return to the entrance.
This game has potential.
I look forward to see where this goes!

If you're one who doesn't mind a product that isn't fully polished and likes providing useful feedback to the devs, then this might be for you.
This runs on the steam deck pretty well but the controls are awful, I've re-mapped the input using the steam controller tools which mostly work.
Providing the devs keep working on this, I'd recommend it.

For the short time I've played Disinfection, got a good feel for it and kind of actually enjoy it!
Though I'm not one for scary games myself, boldly shoving my entirety into the infection to make sure it gets hit with the proper tools...absolutely fun!
If y'all decide to, definitely play it with friends! Plus, the engine update makes it look even BETTER!
