This game is free and not only has the dev gotten rid of the AI placeholder art, the game is STILL getting massive content updates as of posting this review. No content DLC, no microtransactions, nothing. It's damn fun while still being a challenge on higher difficulties and overall it's a must-play.

I haven't played this game for too much hours but im totally sure that:
1) this game shouldn't be free.
2) it's one of the best top down shooter and bullet hell games i've played
3) it has tons of op build that you can try, one more broken than the precedent
4) the weapons concept its really well done, there's just not a truly "bad" weapon even the starting gun works totally fine
maybe some weapons work better than other.
5) and last but not least its totally suitable for short gameplays that last maximum 15 minutes.

Fun survivors-like, most similar one is probably 20 Minutes Till Dawn. There are no classes or characters, only different weapons. It has a unique atmosphere compared to other survivors-likes, and the light/darkness mechanic also supports the game's unique identity. It's also free, although survivors-likes have a tendency to be cheap in general. I don't particularly like the skill tree (it works the same way in 20 Minutes), it's too straightforward for me.

I'm unironically exhausted after a 41 minute game of radiation and vision buffs. it got crazy real quick.
buy game
pick radiation
synergize
experience dopamine for 40 minutes
time for nap

Really great way to waste an hour or two once you've got the hang of things. Manages to keep it fresh via weapon-specific upgrade trees and multiple maps, though there's definitely a "right way" (which is still fun!) to play the game regardless of which weapon you're using (at least for me).

I like the spin on this gameplay concept by introducing the vision system. Adds a bit of a challenge but its very manageable.
