Are you ready to get sliced in half? The year is 2089 and a giant disc has appeared in orbit of Jupiter. Step into the oversized space suit of a brave scientist and explore this sprawling intergalactic slaughterhouse. Explore the expansive orbiting disc ship, moving room to room surviving and completing increasingly complex goals set forth. Use unlocked abilities to outmaneuver dozens of different disc types while solving mysterious puzzles. And remember: what kills you only makes you stronger. Disc Room is a collaboration between Kitty Calis, Jan Willem Nijman, Terri Vellmann and Doseone.

Review after finishing the game on normal mode and trying to uncover as many secrets as possible, opinion might change after 100%/hard mode.
Thoughts after finishing
Game took me roughly 3 hours of playtime due to doing everything plus some minutes AFK. It was pretty much an addicting little game, with different styles of rooms in order to not become too repetitive. Boss fights are challenging enough and the fact that they took "less than 1 minute" to complete makes each attempt go so fast that I end up retrying whenever I die.
The abilities you unlock are quite meh. Personally only ever used dash and maybe slow-mode at times, the others were used either for a door requirement or when trying it out. Noticed also that the skills takes out a part of your time in order to activate (for example, clone eats up time, dash/blast adds a little delay in the timer and so on), so that convinced me that I should just stick with dash. Something about how "useless" the skills can become makes them look pale when the game tries to convince you they are great. Probably some of them can be used in a way that uses up all of their potential, but as for me, I found them too hard to master. A great example would be clone, which is very hard to keep track of all of your clones.
What's so good about it?
First of all, the different types of discs and "collecting" them. It's really fun to discover new ones and trying to learn how to get through rooms. A good example would be the dark room, once I learnt how to do it it felt so damn great.
The game doesn't really feature any kind of leveling system, so it's mostly your skill that's being tested. As such, getting a better time or beating out friends is a neat reward. Personally loving that detail, tracking out your friend list and competing is fun!
The bad
I think it would be dumb to list this, but some of the achievements requires so much patience and skill/RNG that I honestly feel tired of trying to fully finish it. That's just mostly a "me" complaint, though this also means that upon unlocking those achievements you would feel amazing... if you manage to get them.
Some of the rooms had a theme that I personally found more painful than fun. Like yes, the game is about dying a lot, and for the most part it's "fun", but rooms like the ones with the golden balls to gather more time felt like it's the total opposite of what the game is about.
Last but not least, the story ehhhh... was there even a story? I don't mind games having no story, but I feel like it tried to tell something and I honestly haven't understood anything.
Overall
The game is quite fun, discovering new stuff feels great and I think this game allows you to experiment a lot most of the time without the help of COUGH GameFAQs and co™. Would recommend this if you are looking for a short and fast experience!
Also as a PSA, the bullet hell part is amazing.
