Demonsions: Industry is an open world, procedurally generated block crafting/building game. Everything can be mined. Enjoy crafting, building, and fully automating your survival in this strange world.
New in Version 0.00: Voxel mining!
All features listed here have been implemented, but may be subject to change.
Game Basics:
- Many things can be crafted that inherit properties of the material used to craft them
- Mine Ores by hand with a Pickaxe or by machine, fully automating mining, smelting, and crafting
- Pick up and move Ore with a Pry Bar to condense your base (your Pry Bar needs to be at least as hard as the Ore to not destroy it)
- Local grid-based building allows most items to snap into place
Basics of Factory Building:
- Machines are first crafted, then placed, some machines like Miners function differently depending on the metal used to make it
- Generators generate power from an energy source, including fuel and solar
- Power Boxes route power underground automatically to nearby machines and other Power Boxes
- You can use Platforms made from different metals to isolate power grids from one another
- Machines need enough available power to function
- Battery Backups can be used to store extra power being generated and supplement the grid when more power is needed
- Conveyors connect to a machine’s ports and can either give or take items, depending on the Conveyor direction
- Multiple Conveyors can attach to the same port and to each other, allowing for splitting and merging functionality
- Storage Racks hold items from Conveyors and can output items as well
- Filters can be attached to machine ports to only output certain items
Getting Started and Progression:
- A Pickaxe is made by first crafting a Pickaxe Head and a Tool Handle. Press E or (Back) to open the Crafting Menu
- Click on an item/icon in the Crafting Menu to see its recipe
- Click and drop inventory items into your hotbar to rearrange them
- You can find materials to make a basic Pickaxe laying on the ground. Press F or (X) to pick them up
- When night falls you’ll need to craft a Bed, or wait it out using the flashlight in your Scanner to see
- Beds require Cotton, found on plants growing near water
- The terrain can be mined for Stone, Dirt, and Sand
- Once you have a Pickaxe, you can try to find Ores laying around (some Ores are found underground!)
- Use the Scanner to determine an Ore’s hardness and type
- Harder Ores require harder Pickaxes to mine efficiently (same applies to Miner machines)
- If you encounter a Coppie (jumpy treasure chest) he’s probably just hungry
- Once you smelt the Ore Piles in a Furnace, you can set about making new tools, machines, or a base in which to settle down
- A basic automatic mining/smelting setup will need a Generator, Power Box, Miner, Smelter, Storage, and some Conveyors
Have fun playing!

As one of the first reviewers of this game, I should offer my personal experience and opinion of the game here.
The game is VERY EARLY ALPHA PROTOTYPE; this is obviously incomplete and anyone expecting a full game right now is out of their mind.
That being said, lets get down to basics: The game seems to be a very interesting concept of voxel mining and machine making using different materials for different looks; however as of right now it just looks different from what I can tell. Response times to bug reports are astoundingly fast, even on Steam which is not their main contact point for reporting said things, though there are still quite a few bugs that need to be ironed out. This may also have been caused by the fact that my desktop is very old.
EDIT: Hardness is considered for some machines , and durability/hardness/flammability are incorporated into tools as well, from my own testing.
Overall: Keep an eye on this game, but don't buy it yet if you expect a full game.

Got this in V. 0.01. Base recommendation: Wait, for now. It's laggy and a little buggy and simply without any polish whatsoever. However, the game has a good foundation, and could be a really good mix of Satisfactory and Minecraft if given time and work by the devs. I'll certainly keep fiddling with it for now, and will keep up to date as it grows.

Edit: The dev responded a while back and pointed out that I was wrong on some things, which is extremely fair and they are right. There is a lot to this game, there's plenty to make and build. I stand by a lot of what I said before though.
The game is a slog and there is little variety in the (admittedly small) section of the world I explored. There is no variety of enemies, though they have added a number of regular chests to the world. However, those chests are EVERYWHERE at spawn and it feels like you're being handed whatever you need to rush you through the game. Which I know is not necessarily how it is but, that's how it feels.
Mining and gathering resources still feels like such a chore that I just don't have the desire to go forward with it. And I know that's very harsh to say but, I will also add in: This is an easily fixable problem. The main issue was being hurt because I was mining. The other issue is scarcity of some resources like the Tubers or lumber.
The game is being updated regularly, and that's good. With the revelation that I am definitely just an idiot and missed the content then this is a game I can recommend. Maybe not for the full $20 yet but, I can recommend it on sale.

Has potential and is interesting and different. Hope developer keeps at it and turns it into a finished product. Thumbs up!
