Now all we need is a remaster of this game.
If they do the same as they did with the DR1 remaster, then that remaster will be peak Dead Rising.
But this game still holds up, it's fun to just figure out what items works with what, making combo weapons is fun!
Saving items incase they can be combined when you find a house like that is insanely fun.

controllers work, just disable steam input. The game only understands the xinput it was designed for, keeping steam input enabled prevented my Xbox 360 controllers from doing their thing. You may have to use a third party app to get non xboxy controllers to work. DS4Windows and Dualsense X got my PS5 controller to work.
online coop works as well, terror is reality probably works but it requires 4 players... yikes
oh hey capcom! put the dlc on sale too why don't ya! I don't wanna pay $7.96 for pay to win outfits. That's more than double what i paid for the game to begin with. I bought them full price on xbox 360 back in middle school but I'm 25 now and you should have just made them free to begin with.
edit: make sure controller is on before starting game and then enable controller under pc settings. PS. tabbing out during startup before reaching main menu may crash.
edit 2: The controller thing is annoying but it does work. Every other time I launch the game, I'm like what's wrong? Why isn't my controller working? Oh yeah, let me read my own guide again.

Dead Rising 2 offers a chaotic, over-the-top zombie-slaying experience that delivers plenty of fun, but it isn't without its flaws. Set in the zombie-infested Fortune City, this sequel to the original Dead Rising continues the series' tradition of blending intense action with dark humor, creating a unique and memorable experience.
The game's strength lies in its sandbox-style gameplay. With hundreds of zombies on screen at once, you have a staggering amount of freedom in how you approach your objectives. The sheer variety of weapons and items you can use to dispatch the undead is impressive and often hilarious. Combining items to create new weapons, from spiked bats to electrified wheelchairs, adds a layer of creativity that makes each playthrough feel fresh and fun.
The story, while not particularly deep, is entertaining and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Chuck Greene, the protagonist, is a likable character with a straightforward but relatable motive—to save his daughter. The game's tone is a mix of horror and absurdity, which works well for fans who enjoy a more lighthearted approach to the zombie apocalypse.
However, Dead Rising 2 is not without its issues. The time management mechanic, which forces you to juggle multiple objectives within a limited timeframe, can feel restrictive and stressful rather than engaging. It adds tension, but it can also be frustrating for players who want to explore and experiment without being rushed.
The controls can also be clunky at times, particularly during combat, and the save system is dated, relying on manual saves at specific points, which can lead to some unnecessary repetition. Additionally, the graphics, while decent for its time, now feel a bit dated, and there are occasional frame rate drops and minor bugs that can pull you out of the experience.
Despite these drawbacks, Dead Rising 2 remains a fun and unique game for those looking for a different kind of zombie experience. It’s best enjoyed by players who appreciate a mix of action, humor, and a bit of campy charm. If you can look past the flaws, there’s a lot of chaotic fun to be had in the undead playground of Fortune City.
