Dead Event is a game I had very mixed feelings on, I wanted to play it but I didn't understand how to do anything, how I should make my progress or how to get certain items I may have wanted, I hated the insanely bloated values (Level 50,000 players and stuff) and I didn't like how big the map was.... but then the dev did a random patch called "The Great Reset," this had changed player levels and scaling to match 1-100 a lot better, made the map smaller (a little too small, but its being worked on through each content update to add new stuff like caves and new areas), way more balance than we ever had before and also added some new items, this update I think is definitely what the game needed and it is what drew me in, personally.
I started progressing off slowly and kind of disliked the game, thought I was making no progress and had no clue what I was doing, but then I encountered a player named "Kingler," who is the highest HP player in the server atm, and he helped me a LOT, he was willing to give me gear, upgrade resources, rare items (all of which I declined to have a solo experience) BUT I did accept a lot of info from him, once you know whats good to farm at what point of progression, how to improve gathering amounts, drops, stats and so on it really picks up.
Is this the perfect MMO? Not really
Is the game huge? Not by a long shot
Is it a fun game I put Spotify on and just play for like 5 hours at a time cause I feel like it? Absolutely
The dev really cares for the game and he works a fulltime job while having a family, some people have given him death threats over the game but he is just a lovely guy, very willing to include the community in the updates (Kingler got a boss named after him and such) and spends all his free time trying to update the game to be better and better every single update.
The community is extremely kind, we have very few people but they are more than willing to give you whatever you need to start, from loot to info.
One thing I can't say I like in this game is the lack of info for mechanics though.... we should definitely have a "Guide" UI option in game to explain certain things, for example, terrestrial damage weapons will harvest more materials than a regular weapon, bosses can drop gems, elites and bosses can drop class weapons, etc. Then we need more render distance (even if just a little) and a damage log so you know how hard an enemy chunks you. Besides that, I really do love Dead Event in all of its little goofyness.

i love how weird it is. i don't love how hard it is to find food and water as a new player, i wish there were any amount of direction at all, a map, player pings, waypoints, anything to make navigating easier. the tutorial also needs a lot of work, so much goes unexplained
despite all its flaws im glad it exists. it deserves to exist. the world needs more weird bullshit like this. but it would really benefit from a little more QoL

This is a fun little grinding game with a great and interactive small community, the point of the game mostly is to spend time grinding to level up and get better gear, so it's a nice passive play when I have free time.
