Warning: One of the core mechanics of this game is leaving your characters to grind experience points and items while you don’t interact with them a whole lot. This style of play may be too passive for some. We recommend trying the free demo if you are unsure.
Enter the post-apocalyptic continent of DarkSpar, where the races of Dwarves, Elves, and Men lost their war against the forces of darkness long ago. Rebuild civilization from a minor settlement into a grandiose castle. Recover lost technologies and ancient artifacts. Recruit champions and outfit them with ancient relics and a wide array of skills then send them into battle against ancient and forgotten foes
Key features:
- 8 bit look and 8 bit feel. Turn-based auto-combat reminiscent of the flagship RPG titles of the 8-bit console wars.
- Old-school skill trees. Place points in 63 skills across three trees to customize your plan of attack.
- A different loot system. An RPG with no inventory management.
- It’s quiet out here. No NPCs. No shops. Build all of your own equipment.
- Free updates. Five content patches since release incorporating new play modes, difficult settings, randomization, and player suggestions. A large content update planned for the first half of 2022.
- No Microtransactons. Complete game, one price.
- Not an incremental game. One linear story. Different games modes add replay value.
- Fully functional demo version (first 30 levels). Unsure if you’ll like the game? Try the demo. Look for the button on the right of the store page.

First blush, it's solid. Nice images, fun gameplay.
I don't know if I'd call it an idler or an incremental game though. I'ts more like a robust auto battler.
From what I understand there is no loop (no actual prestige systems) so the main draw of idler/incremental games is out. It plays more akin to Runescape or Melvor Idle. You level your 'systems' and beat dungeons/areas.
It is slow. Not glacially, as I've seen others say, but it'll be a game you play alongside ... other idle games, say.
I've only got 2 issues with it. The first is the loop/gameplay. Since it appears to meant to be done in 1 run the gameplay elements are built around that. I feel, however, that the multi-hero system, and even the town/settlement system could be expanded upon. I'm so far having a lot of fun but finding my play halted by materials. EVERYONE, MINE, NAOW. More Heroes/expanded settlement stuff could help this, but the gameplay would have to be expanded upon.
The second is the ui. It's not.. terrible. But it's not great. The menu for everything lays over the menu for everything else, for each character. Clicking outside of this gets you back, but it's still an annoyance. Actual tabs for skills and the associated option/achievement menus should be full... areas with easily distinguishable items. I didn't even notice the tabs to the right for awhile....
I feel, it might be a bit much, price wise, but really, it's a solid game with a lot of fun. Expand upon it a hundred fold and quicken it up a bit and I'd sit in here forever.

I've enjoyed this title and It's hard to describe why. The developer is very helpful and seems interested in fleshing out the system even further. If you like idle games with a light rpg touch give it try.

Very chill old-school idle RPG game. Fantastic for running in the background while you are working on that report you have to write. Runs smoothly on current MacOS, which is a plus.

I enjoy this game at the end of the day. I would approach it like an idle game keep it minimized and let it do it's thing, it's not intensive. Save periodically though! I save once a day. My only complaint would be arrow fighting is the same damage, but is limited with ammo, even with the "ammo isn't used" ability, forget the name offhand, its' just better to melee (in that case a speed built character can dual weild daggers, and there's always respeccing.) It's worth 6$.
Not groundbreaking, but also fairly straight forward, I like the retro graphics, character creation, I like that there's NO gender selection (there's portraits for all the Kings, Queens and Cool Beans. Most games have this, but I feel it's worth mentioning) And I Like that all characters have access to all skill trees, it really can make for some neat combos but I would only do two of three at most.
I give it a 7/10.

Interesting Minimalist Idle game. Not a lot of frequent interaction required to keep the game moving along. Graphics are super retro 8-bit era. Mechanics seem well thought out. Developer is interactive and responds to feedback. I look forward to seeing where this game goes.
I feel the price point is a little high, so I recommend wishlisting and waiting for a sale.

Enjoying this game quite a lot so far. Bought the game after playing the demo
Early Game Review
Pros
Wonderful pixel graphics
Everything is on one screen, and the background is dark
No Rebirthing / Ascending where progress is reset.
Research and Building times are not too fast or too slow
Tons of save slots (I'm a compulsive saver)
Achievements seem achievable
Developer already has guides about the game
Cons
Offline progress capped at 12 hours, I wish it was 24 (or not capped)
Renaming each character is an option, but not the portrait. At the beginning I re-rolled until I got max starting stats with the portrait I liked the most. It would be cool if clicking the portrait would change it.
Looking forward to progressing further. Hoping more features are added.
Highly encourage trying the demo if the price point is turning you away.

I liked this game quite a bit. I have not played a ton of idle games, and the ones I have played have been more of the "clicker" variety, e.g. Cooke Clicker, Kittens Game, etc. I like not having to click but making steady progress.
The developer is very quick and responding to issues and a ton of updates have been released even since I have beaten it.
