Hey guys, if you're here for an honest review of this theoretically super enjoyable game, then I have to disappoint you. I know this game is in a very bad state rn but as you guys might not know: Wollay (the developer) is working on a new cube world rn. I think its important that we, as the community share some love to Wollay. In the past wollay had to get around with depression and other mental issues because of cube world. I know this game isn't the best at the moment, but to get a better and new cube world we have to motivate Wollay with positive reviews or any other kind of support for his game. I really recommend you the YT Channel WollayFX, on which he's uploading development blogs and to be honest: the new cube world looks like the 2013 version but way better.

Good game, can't wait for Cube World Omega in 30-40 years!

I guess I never stopped hoping since the release of this game because I always seem to randomly check back in on Wollay to see if he's even still alive.
For the time being, I will give it a thumbs up ONLY because he has finally resurfaced. This is only to show support of Wollay's new ambition for Cube World Omega, not the current state of the game (DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IN ITS CURRENT STATE, IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY). I haven't played any game that has come close to what the Cube World Alpha was, so the way he describes his plans for Omega is promising to me.
Cube World Omega can be an amazing game or just be the "full release" flop that was Cube World again. Only time will tell, hopefully before I die of old age.

TL;DR don't buy this game, wait for his next version (omega) or get your hands on the alpha version.
Cube World Alpha? amazing. full potential and felt really cool and rewarding to play.
This version isn't rewarding. It doesn't feel good, clearing your first region is painful, which would be okay if the experience wasn't reset when you enter the next region.
The progression is an extremely cool concept. In my opinion you could view it as an art piece, a commentary on video game progression as a whole. but it's not practical or enjoyable as a game.
The dev started posting on twitter recently, they're working on "Cube World Omega" which has the spirit of the alpha with 2023 tech and features. It's really exciting.
Considering i got my money's worth from the alpha, and technically received this for free, I'm on the edge of my seat for Omega. Third times the charm
