Craftopia
Craftopia is the brand new multiplayer open-world survival action game.
We have imagined what would happen when we combine our favorite video games altogether.
Chop trees and mine stones as in Sandbox,
Explore the world as in Open-world,
Fight the hunger as in Survival,
Cultivate and harvest as in Farming,
Collect loots in dungeons as in Hack-and-slash,
Automate activities as in Factory management,
Hunt monsters and creatures as in Hunting action,
Cast magical spells as in Fantasy RPG.
Now we have a utopia for all of us. That is Craftopia.Farming20+ crops are available for you to grow. Of course, you can grow crops one by one, but there are more you can do. With the power of agricultural machines, you can have large scale fields.
While enjoying your self-sufficient life, why not make your colorful orchards?
Industrialization and AutomationYou can automate every single item gathering. When you get tired of cutting woods and mining stones? Let’s automate!
…Tired of automation of simple activities? Then let’s start using belt-conveyers to build huge factories.
BreedingBy throwing Monster Prism at creatures, you can catch them as a pet. Not only animals like cows and deer, but most of the monsters are also tamable. Monsters, Gotta Catch ‘Em All!
Exploring DungeonsWhen the detector starts beeping, it’s the sign that you’re getting close to a dangerous dungeon. Back to the town to equip yourself, then enter the dungeon in the hope of finding treasures. It changes its shape every time you enter. At the end of the dungeon, you will encounter bosses to fight.
You will gain new abilities when you unleash the power of the world.
FishingIn Craftopia, you can enjoy fishing too. Taste some fresh fish, and craft a shield from turtle shells! Once you get used to fishing on the coastline, it’s time to build a ship to sail! Let’s catch a whale!

This game gets a bad rap thanks to the popularity and similarity of the developers more well known game, Palworld. I want to put a disclaimer that I have not played Palworld (but plan to once I am done with Craftopia), and I have only ever played since the seamless update.
Want to casually farm and get rich selling cabbages? You can do that.
Want to gear up, become a badass and take on a dragon? You can do that.
Want to build your own custom base and crazy automation inventions? You can do that.
Want to take your characters own waste, turn it into salt peter, and use it to make gunpowder so you can craft bullets? You can do that.
Want to grind bosses for loot and gear? You can do that.
Want to capture mobs and raise pets? You can do that.
You can play this game as chill as you want or as grindy as you want and that's what's great about it.
To directly address some of the issues I've read from negative comments:
-I've seen comments about people having issues with game saves not functioning correctly. I've had no problems with that. The game actually has a built in save backup system for restoring saves if something goes awry.
-I've seen comments about bad performance, both graphically, and with multiplayer. My GF and I play together via LAN and neither have had issues with regular performance graphics wise. We have had one session where she ran into issues. It was like on minecraft when you look at a bad chunk and your framerate tanks but but after she restarted the game everything went back to normal. (we have only ever played on LAN, we have not played on hosted servers)
-I've seen comments about the game being abandoned. They literally just posted an update 2 days ago.
-Before buying the game I tried to find recent video reviews. The most recent I could find being from ~4 months ago. One of the main issues that was mentioned in some of those videos were a lack of fast travel. That is no longer a thing. There are waypoints you can fast travel to EVERYWHERE.
A couple of small issues I have had are:
- The stamina bar seems to be either inconsistent in what triggers it to drain or there are some hunger mechanics at play that are not explicitly explained. At times I can take off running and the bar doesn't drain at all. Others I take off and it will start draining as expected. My glide skill is maxed yet there are occasions where my stamina drops very quickly when I start to glide. However, if I'm cliffside and make a point to let my stamina fill completely before triple jumping and gliding as far as I can I have no issues.
- As mentioned previously, there are plenty of fast travel locations. When we are playing together I host and tend to fast travel a lot. When I do and have the loading screen on my end, my GF's side does hitch and slow for moment before I'm loaded back into the new area but then performance goes back to normal for her.
- We play primarily with controller and there are times that controls are... clunky. I have yet to figure out how to extract enchantments without grabbing the mouse but to be fair the game page does only show partial controller support.
- You will see new enemies in each area as you progress through the ages but goblins are a mainstay so get ready to kill lots of them, regular goblins, fire goblins, electric goblins, poison goblins, etc. Goblins goblins goblins.
Overall, I've definitely got my money's worth and I'm still nowhere near done. I had this on my wishlist for a long time before I finally got it and wish I would have purchased sooner.

Craftopia is like breath of the wild and minecraft had baby, the best part about the game ive found so far is being able to basically kidnap goblins from there families and force them to work for the rest of the lives just to power my stuff

This was fun for the 209 hours I put in. It probably would've been longer had we not gotten flying mounts and kept exploring the map. I suggest you avoid flying mounts until you're at the last hell biome since it takes fun off of exploration. Ended up skipping 4 biomes but that's not the games fault I guess.
I came in with no expectations and ended up no-lifing the game for 200 hours.

Palworld without Pals, but with much more different mechanics, game-systems and MUCH more bugs and unfinished pieces.
Also, because Palworld is out (from same developers) - this one will be in early access forever now.

this game has potential and is the prior child of a company that released a hit game, hopefully more content will arrive soon and this game gets some major bug fixes

I am someone who has been following Craftopia Early Access since pretty much it came out, and I have to say, the point they reached in 5 years is not amazing. The game is still not optimized, has a lot of bugs etc. like any alpha game.
But trust me that there is a good reason for all of this.
Before the game's current version, the map was split into 100 island maps that were very similar to each other, but were getting progressively harder as you moved on and explored further. They completely nuked this game and started anew with the scraps. IMO, this was the right move as the previous versions were super repetitive and uninteresting. But this also means that they had to start from scratch and had to piss off some of the players who expected more from a game that was 4 years into the early access (back when they changed everything, and they did piss off so many people).
But what they got right and what makes you play this game is definitely the good amount of variation of builds in the game, with each weapon and build having their own animations and play styles. The vehicles in my opinion are garbage and are way too buggy to use, but they are fun when they work. The dungeons are not bad but can be repetitive after a while (kind of like in Palworld). The new open world is super cool with nice treasure hunting, fun bosses to kill, puzzles to solve etc. Yes it is a clone of Breath of the Wild but that was the original selling point of this game anyways.
There is so much more to talk about this game that you can see from other reviews, and I know that people are saying "because Palworld came, the devs have ignored this game, its abondonware" etc. but this is factually not true as this game is still receiving monthly updates with new content and bug fixes. This game was always made by like 5-6 people and it still is being made that way, and the game's scale is enormous. It is one of the games you need patience with.
If you want to support the devs you can get it at its asking price which isnt a lot (25 usd) or better in a sale. If you don't care, then simply play Palworld as that game has much more content and is better polished. Just remember that this game's scope is bigger than Palworld's and it has a unique taste to it that Palworld does not give you.
