シリーズ後継作のBSとBDをPSVITAで既プレイ、天神小学校編第一作目である本作をsteamでたまたま見つけ購入。全実績解除済み。
本シナリオやEXストーリーは後継作での知識があるため思い出補正ありで楽しめた。ダミーヘッドマイクで録音されているボイスは聞いていて気持ちがいい。しかし，ホラー描写はそこまで怖くない。
むしろ本作で怖いのは詰みセーブに気づかず何時間も同じ場所をぐるぐる回り続けること。私はチャプター5で三時間ほどぐるぐるしていた。
そもそもフラグの発生条件自体プレイヤーに読めないものが多くマップをぐるぐるしなければならない。セーブポイントにも謎の間隔が空いていたり少なかったり，エンド回収での周回が苦痛。この時代に遊ぶ場合，ゲームプレイの悪さは覚悟しておいた方がいい。wikiゲーミングに躊躇いがなければ素直にネットにある攻略情報に頼るべき。
正統続編がリリースするようなので、ゲームプレイの改善を期待したい。

原点にしてシリーズ最高傑作。
２Dグラフィックだが、それが本作の魅力でもあり、プレイヤー自身の想像力が掻き立てられることによる没入感と、キャラクター達を演じるベテラン声優陣や、演出を高めるための効果音などが巧みに組み合わさることで、非常に完成度の高いホラー体験を実現している。
「ホラゲーが好きなら一度はやっておけ」と強くおすすめしたい。

呪われた天神小学校へ再び訪れる。
BC版とは違う、別の声優さん達のボイスに加えて、各やキャラクターや探索時に見られるスチルも数多く追加されており、より一層恐怖を煽られます。
天神小学校に連行され、死んでもなお永遠に監禁される犠牲者達。人々に帰る(還る)術は無く、目の前の悪夢を受け入れることしか出来ない。まさにどうあがいても絶望。
ゲーム内BGMもですが、元々のPSP版主題歌である『シャングリラ』もとても良い楽曲なので一度聴いてほしいです。

ストーリー次どうやって進めれば良いのかわからないとか昔のゲームあるあるな部分は存在するがストーリーは中々おもしろく、2025年現在グッズの販売とかもやってたけど秋葉原では売り切れ続出だったし、まだまだ根強い人気のある良ゲー
