About the GameNotes from the developer:
-This is not a puzzle game, in Citystate there is no right combination to build a successful Nation. This is a sandbox, old school style in which most building tools are unlocked at start. There are no guided mandatory steps apart from a short independent tutorial.
-There is very little micro management to do in Citystate, no public facilities to build or bus lines to organize. This game is about macro management and economics, seeing the big picture and experimenting with political ideologies.
-The game mechanics are based on today’s world economy. Policies’ effects try to mimic nations of the modern world and their intrinsic differences. Citystate is often politically incorrect and possibly biased.
-The game is specifically designed for mature audiences.

A unique city builder game with philosophy, politics, economics, and constantly fighting the urge to highly tax the lower class. Overall, highly recommended.

I like how they balanced the mix of economics with politics.

I used to play this game a lot 5 years ago. I would always go bankrupt because I didn't understand how it worked. I recently got back into it and after a few tries I made a successful city. Buy it. It's cool.

A VERY addictive SimCity like simulation. With less of the micromanaging, and more depth to things like political features. Those are the parts that really keep me engaged; trying to make a pure communist state work, or a pure capitalist or libertarian state.

Fun game, missing some elements of city building. Enjoying the Democracy style gov options. Republic of Banana has fallen

Fun game, old but fun. I love trying different solutions such as communism, libertarin etc. it's interesting to see consequences to forms of government I would never want to live in personally. I hope this steam platform is not some ender's game type scenario because if that is true, I have truly f'd over many different populations.
