ChromaGun
Welcome to ChromaTec’s test lab! You’re here to test our newest, state-of-the-art military-grade color-technology: The ChromaGun (patent pending)! Use it to try and solve our meticulously designed test chambers. The basic principle is as easy as applying it is complex: Exit the chambers via the exit doors. But be weary of the WorkerDroids in charge of maintaining the chambers. They’re not exactly what you and I would call “human friendly”. Use the ChromaGun to colorize walls and WorkerDroids to progress in the chambers. WorkerDroids are attracted to walls of the same color. Using that mechanic, try to reach the exit door of each chamber. Some doors are more complicated to use than others: They can only be opened using door triggers and only stay open as long as the triggers are occupied.

I'm trapped in an endless world of shifting hues and mind-bending physics. The colors aren’t just colors... they’re... alive? They watch me. They judge me. With every switch, with every portal, I can feel the reality bending, warping into something strange and... not entirely sane.
There’s power in these colors, but I don’t think I was meant to wield it.
Sometimes I blink, and the colors shift ever so slightly...are they trying to tell me something? Or am I just one click away from losing myself in this colorful abyss?

| THIS IS A MIXED REVIEW |
It's hard to decide whether I like this game or not. After almost 8 hours of playtime and all Steam achievements, there definitely was something that kept me coming back to this game for a few play sessions. It definitely has a Portal feel to it - but without the portals of course. I don't want to compare this game to Portal, but there are a few things that make this game a bit annoying:
It is a nice game, with an interesting concept, but...
- especially the later levels can be very difficult, because you have to be very precise with your timing. This isn't exactly a bad concept to make levels harder, but it can be frustrating when you know how to solve a chamber, but it just takes a lot of attempts to do so in time.
- there should be an option to repaint a surface or undo what you've painted. Because if you (accidentally) paint something wrong, you have to restart the whole level. This can be quite frustrating. I hope Chroma Gun 2 has a solution for this.

Fairly easy puzzles. Very definitely inspired by portal's aesthetic. Great potential for excellent community maps. Overall 7/10, would play through again.
If you enjoyed this game you might also enjoy the following (in no particular order):
1. Portal series (obviously)
2. Talos Principle 1 & 2 (absolutely God tier)
3. Antichamber
4. Manifold Garden
5. Superliminal
6. Sensorium (short, but clever)
7. Qube 1 & 2
8. The Turing Test
9. Path to Thalamus (probably a 5/10 game)
10. Lingo (word bases puzzles, love this game)
11. The witness
12. The looker ( :^} )
13. Viewfinder
14. The swapper (not first person perspective)
15. Baba is You (not first person perspective)
16. Understand (not first person perspective)
17. Yugo Puzzle (not first person perspective)

Simple concept with challenging puzzles and a Portal-esque art style. Only complaint I really have is the fact many of the levels require perfect execution that can easily land you a softlock if you fuck up. Aside from that, it's a pretty good game.

You can think that it`s Portal. But you will be wrong. Short and fun puzzle game. Looking forward for Part 2. Recommended for all puzzle games fans.
And yes, they have a cake for you :)

Shoot, colour, mix and don't die, actually a fun puzzle game

I'd give this a 6/10. Whilst obviously Portal-inspired, it doesn't really hold up in comparison. It's relatively short for this style of game, There was an attempt at humour with the voice-over, but I think more could have been made of that. One frustration with the game mechanic is that you easily and often get yourself into an unrecoverable situation and need to restart the test chambers - especially as it isn't always obvious what order you need to do things. That said, it was a fun game and recommended if you can get it on a good discount.
