I've never played any platformers of this kind before, but I'm going to say that this is one of the best games of its kind.
Most importantly, the game is perfectly balanced in terms of difficulty (although it is a difficult game). As long as you collect all the strawberries in order, the sudden leaps of difficulty that I've observed were single levels, which is basically quite normal.
The game is incredibly responsive - I don't remember if I've ever been able to attribute some of my failures to the way the game works. In Celeste mistakes we made, we can only blame ourselves, which is definitely an advantage. You can spend in this game many, many hours without noticing how much time has passed.
Besides, it offers a lot of possibilities when it comes to movement, and it allows the possibility of continuously improving your level passing strategies (or changing them, making them harder, faster, or more demanding or all at once) by adding further elements to the puzzle, which is the way of passing the level.
Usually dying in games is frustrating, while in Celeste it is a positive learning experience, which in most cases does not hurt (just a little, but in a positive way), but motivates.
The design of the game itself, the levels, and the music are amazing. To be honest, I'm not able to see the weaknesses of this game. 10/10.
To be honest, I was always surprised to see speedrunners in any game, and I wasn't quite able to understand what they saw in it. And well, it looks like I've become one of them myself (not very good, not even weak, but I am).
Just try this game. It won't hurt (maybe a little). This is the game about continuously trying to be a better version of yourself.

Probably the most overrated game I've ever played.
Still, I cannot bring myself to give it a negative review because for fans of 2D platformers, the gameplay and presentations are excelent.
However, the story in short is a few lines of pseuso psychology for depressed teens, laid on thick, bordering on cringe.

It's the best platformer game ive ever played, and it's also the one who made me go insane after beating the main story and realising that there's more... WAY MORE

the game is a masterpiece, however its not for people who either have a short temper or little dedication, its a really hard game and if youre not willing to put a bunch of hours into it, then i would say its not for you but i would still encourage trying it, even if you dont like it
