For those who played the first case files game, this one is leaps and bounds better, making great strides in progressing this format. I found myself getting especially invested in the case and characters, enjoying the longer format of the game and intently hanging on to every story detail. There is more that can be added and improved in later installments in this series, and I eagerly await what comes next!

I liked the layout of this game. One of few murder mystery style games that I could actually go back and replay, because there are things I missed on the first run through that would let me see more content and more details. And it wasn't death by reading reports, instead - it was a really streamlined delivery mechanic for information gathering.
The acting was really great. Charles and Janice were both top notch, the emotional delivery and range they showed really added a ton of depth to the story itself.

I thoroughly enjoyed "Case Files: Behind Closed Doors." This game provides an immersive experience, allowing you to step into the shoes of an investigator tasked with solving a murder case. The premise is gripping: an abusive boyfriend is killed, and you must determine which of four suspects is guilty.
The game excels in its interactive elements. I felt like a real detective as I sifted through suspect interviews, scrutinised home security footage, and analysed crime scene photos. The process of finding contradictions and discerning truth from lies was both challenging and rewarding. The game requires critical thinking, and I appreciated how it made me feel deeply involved in the investigation.
I've logged nearly 8 hours in this game and have played through it several times. Each play through offered new insights, especially when aiming for different achievements and trying to pinpoint where I went wrong in my questioning. The achievement system added a layer of replay-ability that kept me coming back for more.
Overall, I highly recommend "Case Files: Behind Closed Doors" to anyone who enjoys detective work, puzzle-solving, and immersive storytelling. It's a well-crafted game that truly makes you feel like you're part of the investigative process.

Full review at:
A big step up from the previous Case Files game, Case Files: Behind Closed Doors delivers on its “interrogation simulation” concept with a mystery where each of the four suspects feels like a possible culprit and enough twists keep the video watching format engaging. Spotting contradictions can involve picking up on small but crucial details while also proving to be a stronger payoff than the times you spend advising your fellow detective on how to proceed with questioning. It could do a better job of throwing you off the trail of the true guilty party, but there are still details you’ll need to unearth to get the full picture and lock in your choice, Case Files: Behind Closed Doors doing a good job of keeping your interest until you give your final verdict.

As someone who enjoys FMV games and detective stories, this is an excellent follow-up to "Case Files: The Death of Paulette Williams". - You watch video testimony, review the evidence, and then select evidence that supports or contradicts the testimony to steer the investigation.
I recommend it for fans of Ace Attorney games, indie films, and murder-mystery stories.
