Card Hunter
Welcome, bold adventurer! Card Hunter is an online collectible card game which blends together card play, deck building, tactical combat and fantasy role-playing in a way you've never seen before. Grab your cards, miniatures, dice and snacks, then journey to a new world of adventure on the tabletop of your Game Master, Gary. Build your party and set forth on a grand adventure in the massive single-player campaign. Each adventure will challenge your deck-building skills and tactical prowess as you battle horrifying Black Oozes, savage War Monkeys and more. Amass a collection of fantastical swords, shields and other adventuring gear. In Card Hunter's unique deck building system, equipping your party with these items builds your deck for you. Enter the fray on a grid based battlefield. Prepare for turn-based strategy where you must play your cards right to defeat your foes and be rewarded with experience and loot.

This game has provided over 4,000 hours of replayability in my case. Amazing card deck building and collective game with zone of control and positional board game elements. Soooo sick!

The best 0€ I ever spent. Very unique and fun game concept. The main campaign is completely free and will provide about 20-40h of gameplay. After completing the campaign each adventure will get 4 additional variants (basically NG+). Additional adventure packs can be purchased in-game, but they aren't needed to enjoy the game. Card Hunter also features a loot-box system, but it can also be ignored as the main campaign, shops and crafting provide enough good EQ to have fun and complete the game. Sadly the AI is extremely dumb and at times it feels like it's trying to lose on purpose by discarding attack cards instead of just using them.

Fair warnings:
This game is a lot of fun at first.
This game is also devolves into a nightmare.
Someone apparently thinks that strategy is overrated and that RNGesus should decide whether or not you win any given battle. Especially on the harder battle later in the campaign, the number of 6's that get rolled are almost uncountable. The designers need to look into this if this is not intentional. If it is intentional, I think my inherent frustration will keep me from finishing. If I'm unable to use tactics and have to rely on the slim chance of the enemy not drawing from a seemingly endless supply of block cards, or armor cards, or just not getting an ungodly amount of high rolls when calculating damage, this will take a long time.

Feels like dungeons and dragons combined with magic the gathering. The story line about the nerd protagonist is relatable too.

Nice graphics: CHECK. Pleasant music: CHECK. Addictive gameplay: CHECK. Acceptable difficulty: CHECK. Diablo 2-like amount of items: CHECK. Story: - Oh, story, probably the best aspect of this game! Fascinating coming-of-age story of a nerd, presented in a minimalistic way. It reminds me of my college days playing D&D rip-off and my mistake of lending my super rare edition of Lovecraft to my teammates back then, which they never returned. So if you happen to be reading this review, please know that I am still waiting for it to be returned!

You know you have a special kind of Free-To-Play game on your hands when you can play over 30 hours of it and not spend a dime to complete its main story. This was a delightful game, full of charm in its art, mechanics, and characters and stories. I haven't touched the multiplayer yet, which seems to be what most people enjoy, but don't sleep on the campaign! It's a simple game on its surface, but it has just enough complexity to really drive you forward. Would for sure recommend.

🏆 Overall Rating: 9/10
Everything is great when you are below level 10. But after that, the game became p2w. Legendary equipment really gives a huge advantage. Although you can rank to find them, the odds are extremely low. On the other hand, when playing story mode, the number of monsters increases but the quality is not there. And you'll often draw bad cards in your first play or two.
In short, if you only play the first 10 levels, it's okay. But if you play for a long time, you have to reconsider.
🎮 Gameplay: 10/10
The random cards depending on the equipment are really cool. Each character has different builds and creates a diverse squad. I really like this gameplay.
🎨 Graphics: 9/10
It's simple but still shows enough. It can be considered good in 2013.
📖 Story: 8/10
Actually, I skipped most of the story. But still understand the general concept of conquering dungeons.
🎵 Sound: 8/10
Good sound. At least it shows enough for you to grasp the situation.
