I do not care what anyone says; this is the best Call of Duty of all time. Is it because I love WWII, and this game is a little nostalgic? Maybe. However, call of duty never has and might never will make a campaign as good as this one again

People will look back after years and realise this game is an underrated classic. The amount of effort and detail put into this game is frankly unheard of within modern CoD titles.

Honestly the game and its DLC are overpriced, but staying competitive goes against Activision's core principles so I'd recommend holding out for a sale. It took me 8.5hrs to beat the campaign on Veteran, and I'm sure over 30min came from loading screens (SSD!). They also doubled down on the horror for Zombies and I really enjoy it.
It's a pretty good game, and one of my favorite COD campaigns.

This is a review of the single-player mode only:
Call of Duty has worn a lot of different faces over the years, and whether you'll enjoy this one will depend largely on what you're looking for. The World War II setting has cut down on the crazy weaponry and tech some of the newer entries have displayed, and it means that the setpieces are fairly dialed-back. The world is also fairly brown and plain, far from the prettiest it's ever been.
That being said, the gameplay is tight as anything (other than the airplane section), and the story - while thin - is still fairly well-told. By the end, I really felt for the brothers-in-arms who had been my companions throughout the game. I played on Veteran, and despite some of the deaths seemingly unavoidably coming from nowhere (admittedly, fairly in character for WWII), I felt like it was challenging but with nothing that couldn't be overcome. I got some feels, I got some adrenaline rushes, and all in all I had a decent time.
