From the developers of the BIT.TRIP series comes Bubsy: Paws on Fire!, the latest and greatest in bobcat-based gaming.
Oinker P. Hamm is determined to capture every animal in the universe for his “Amazootorium.” Bubsy, fearing mostly for himself, is just as determined to stop him. Two archrivals, stitched together by the cruel knitting needles of fate. No matter who emerges victorious, there is one thing we know for certain: There’s going to be a whole lot of yarn along the way.
Four playable characters, each with their own unique mechanics! Fly and shoot your way through the air as The Woolie, take it underground with Arnold’s bonus levels, or run your way to victory with Bubsy and Virgil Reality!

One of the most fun runner games on Steam. Super addictive, with just the right difficulty...quite easier than runner 2 or 3. You have 4 characters with different abilities, with 3 of them (easier and harder humper types and 3 rd is side scroller shooter type, for the lack of better name :P). To progress and to get 100 % achievements you DO NOT need to 100 % every level. You are only required to collect 3 puzzle pieces with each caracter in the level to unlock 4 type character level - those are special bonus levels, where you are controlling mole like character :P thru a tube collecting gems and fruits and avoiding Farts XD, no joke).
At the end of each world you are going against the boss that has same pattern every time, so when you learn that pattern there is no challenge. So all in all it is easy to pick up and not hard to master type game.
It does have great replay value if you want to challenge yourself to collect everything, if there was an achievement for it like in Runner 2/3 this game would be piss blood type of game, and a lot of gamepads would meet end of their life. Its not worth full price, get this game on Sale and if you like runner type games you will love this one.

This particular Bubsy game is an auto-runner style platformer. I find I do not like this nearly as much as I liked having more control over my pacing in the previous game Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back. That said, the cutscenes are charming, the extra customization options are fun, and the game overall is one of the best looking non-2D Bubsy games to come out.
I do not enjoy playing this game. Which is about par for the course for Bubsy games. But I adore the charm of the characters (the titular mascot especially) and how everyone interacts with each-other.
I wouldn't recommend it if you were hoping for the classic Bubsy formula to finally get fixed up and polished to actually play nicely. Gameplay wise this a lot more of a Bit Trip Runner / Commander Video game. Which is not _bad_ just very different.
But if you're a Bubsy fan like me, you're buying this because it's got Bubsy on the Cover and he makes goofy quips and he still doesn't wear pants (usually). He wears shoes now, which is a HARD downgrade.
But as long as they keep making Bubsy games and Bubsy gets to do and say Bubsy Silly things, I will keep buying them!

What are these dumb shoes? Bobcats shouldn't wear shoes.
