Bloodless is a retro stylish, action-adventure featuring fast-paced combat staged at the atmospheric lands of Bakugawa. Help ronin Tomoe to confront ghosts of her past to end the reign of violence of Shogun Akechi, her former master.
Precise Combat: Fight to disarm your old allies, Akechi’s samurai army, with nothing but your bare fists using Tomoe’s signature dash-counter mechanic. Enhance your abilities by drinking infusions of herbs scattered around the land.
Moody Environments: Explore the sacred nature and suffered districts of Bakugawa, where its society lives under a violent and corrupt military regime, isolated from the world and shattered by the terrors of its past wars.
Emotional storytelling: Even as a coward and deserter through the eyes of her own people, ronin Tomoe returns to her former land after witnessing all the blood that a blade can shed, hoping to spark the hope and courage Bakugawa needs to fight back its violent political methods.

A quick review hoping to improve the game visibility.
I love the art style and graphics, they give a great visual identity. They also help a lot with readability in gameplay, gameplay that renews itself quite well with often new patterns and situations. Objectives and zones can be tackled in your preferred order, with side quests and a bit of exploring.
I'm 2h in and really enjoying what Bloodless offers, it already feels like a hidden gem already.
Update : Reached the credits. I enjoyed my experience. Good job to the devs.
Pretty chalenging, yet almost always in a fair way. Except when : enemies that start their attacks offscreen, making them unpredictable (happens when they dash back before charging) and when foreground scenery hides patterns. Also had some trouble when being put against 3-4 enemies at the same time. Those situations are quite rare and exclusive to the last third of the game.
There were some frustrating fights until i learned how to engage them in a safer way or how to counter. The difficulty was just enough for me, handled well and progressively increasing. The combat system ended up deeper than what I originaly thought, thanks to the way you can interupt opponents with well timed ki fists. I really like that.
The art and overall atmosphere gluded the experience for me. I would not have done that much side content and backtracking otherwise, even though said side content was very good and engaging.
I also really apreciate what happens in the ending, a bold decision from the devs. Good luck on their next project.
