"Lies Of P" is one of the most sophisticated soul games released in recent times. Its excellence is evident in various aspects: a superb combat system, a comprehensive and engaging world design, and challenging boss battles that make it one of the most difficult games in its genre. Unlike many others in the genre, "Lies Of P" lacks quest markers and overt hints.
Throughout the game, players encounter several key items that can be handed over to non-playable characters to trigger specific quests or dialogues, revealing additional facets of the game world and rewarding players with materials or equipment. One such item is the Bright Red Apple.
Acquiring the Bright Red Apple
To obtain the bright red apple, players need to approach Polendina, a puppet at the registration desk in the "Crat" hotel. Initially, he won't have the apple in his inventory. To make it appear, players must first deliver a crate of Crat supplies to Polendina, located in the chapel of Saint Franzelico.
- Teleport to the library of Saint Franzelico's Cathedral.
- Take the elevator behind you to reach the upper floor, where you defeated a Hulk-like mini-boss.
- Find the crate of Crat supplies inside the chest in the room to the left of the passage.
- Deliver the crate to the "Crat" hotel and talk to Polendina to expand his inventory.
After expanding Polendina's inventory, the Bright Red Apple will be available for purchase for 1000 ergo.
Using the Bright Red Apple
The in-game description emphasizes the apple's value for NPCs but also provides two ways for players to utilize it.
Adelina's Request
Teleport to the Star Gazer of Estella's Opera Theater. Locate Adelina, offer her the apple when prompted and listen to her response. Afterward, proceed forward and explore the remaining part of the Opera Theater, defeating the boss of this chapter: the Puppet King.
Once you defeat him, return to the room where Adelina was. She will already be deceased, but by searching her, you'll find the Red Actress Medallion and a record titled "Enchantment."
Consoling the Riddle King
If you encounter difficulties with one of the riddles proposed by the Riddle King, he will provide you with a hint regarding alternative ways to obtain the Trinitarian Key. Assuming you have already unlocked the short path leading to the boss room, obtaining the key will become simpler.
To do this, teleport to the Star Gazer of Estella's Opera Theater. Move forward, bypassing the burning and swaying chandelier. Instead of passing it by, jump to the floor below and follow the path forward until you reach the statue. Interact with it and offer the apple when prompted, resulting in obtaining the key.
It is essential to note that you can use the apple only once. Therefore, you have the option to either receive a reward by offering it to Adelina or use it to obtain the Trinitarian Key from the Riddle King. Considering that riddles are generally easily solved (the correct option is often apparent), using the apple becomes a more logical choice in Adelina's case.
