These insects serve dual purposes—they are valuable for crafting items and completing quests. However, specific Palia insects are exclusive to certain locations, such as the Duskwing Butterfly, uniquely found in Kilima Valley. Similar to other uncommon insects, this Butterfly has specific times of the day when it prefers to take flight.
Where to Locate the Duskwing Butterfly
In Palia, insects prove to be much more advantageous than initially perceived, and the Duskwing Butterfly is no exception. This Butterfly is essential for fulfilling one of Tamala's quests and can also be given to Auni, Elouisa, or Jel to enhance your friendship level. Thus, it is recommended to capture as many Duskwing Butterflies as possible. However, be prepared to invest a considerable amount of time in the search, as this insect only spawns in a particular area.
To find the Duskwing Butterfly in Palia, head to the Dragon Shrine located northeast of Killim Village. A significant number of these beautiful butterflies will spawn around this Shrine. It's important to note that these insects only take flight in the morning and afternoon. Therefore, embark on bug hunting between 3 a.m. and 6 p.m.
How to Catch the Duskwing Butterfly
Now that you know where to find the Duskwing Butterfly in Palia, you need to prepare the tools for catching it. To do this, you simply need to advance a bit in the story, especially if you're at the beginning of your adventure, to obtain the Belt. With it, you can carry Smoke Bombs, without which catching bugs is impossible:
