I could have finished this game 10 hours earlier if I had known where to go. Another major downside is the movement and combat mechanics. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10. Bad support for keyboard players. Besides that all good

Brutalnie piękna mieszanka soulslike’a i mrocznej, religijnej groteski.

Crazy atmosphere, controls get smoother and smoother throughout the game and the progression on the map feels so satisfying.
The beginning may be a bit rough but it definitly is worth the effort,

I’ve completed Blasphemous with the good ending and collected all the secrets, so I feel like I got the full experience.
The mechanics are fairly simple at first, but the game does a great job of gradually demanding more from you. Each new area pushes you to use what you’ve learned in more precise and challenging ways. It never felt unfair and I knew that it was either my skill issue or the fact that i have to come back to this area later.
That said, I’m not really the target audience here. I’m not a big fan of metroidvania style games, and you can feel that design philosophy throughout the game. Even so, I still had a great time with it, but more as a Catholic nerd than gamer.
The gameplay is smooth, although not as ultra-responsive as something like Hollow Knight. I think that works in its favor. It gives the combat a heavier, more deliberate feel that fits the tone.
Where the game really shines is its atmosphere. If you’re into Spanish folklore and Catholic aesthetics (both visually and thematically), this game is absolutely dripping with it. The world is dark, symbolic, and unique and i loved every second of reading item desriptions or studying the games wiki.

Good game filled with lots of content, gut wrenching atmosphere and world building, that will have you hooked for a good time. Combat isn't the most unique and could fall boring after some time but game isn't long and as such doesn't overstay its welcome with it, so no issue here. The selling point for me is again, amazing atmosphere of broken world full of gore and torment, complemented by very fashionable cutscenes, and baddass protagonist clawing his way through his journey. The main story game bosses are fun but bit lacking, but DLC has some really good ones which can kick ass. The biggest issue I have are side quests which are really hard to follow without guide, you get an item and you really don't know what to do with it besides guessing, also there is a ton of backtracking at the later parts of the game because of it. But overall still a fun experience and def will play the second one.

Frustrating and annoying at times but thats often more of a positive than a negative. Like almost everyone else said, stunning pixel art and world design, the voice acting is also phenomenal in my opinion. Gameplay-wise i think the game is not bad, however it is my first experience with an metroidvania so i dont really have anything to compare it with. I found it fun and pretty rewarding and i highly recommend this game.
