Scotland, 1926. Following the suicide of his father, David Gordon visits his ancestral home for the first time in his life. A life that is soon threatened by the dark secrets that claimed the sanity of many Gordons before him.
Tormented by nightmares and waking dreams for all his life, David fears that it might be his destiny to follow in his father’s footsteps, down a path that leads to madness, and death.
Is there really a Curse that has been haunting his family, like his father believed?
It is up to David to uncover the horrible truths, buried under generations of silence and fathoms of stone. Black Mirror Castle demands an offering...

not as terrible as everyone says. not as good as the original series too, but at least part of the atmosphere is still there. simple wandering through the known mansion in 3d with a candle is fun by itself. it's just smth different to the old ones but i'm grateful i could continue playing the set. u can ignore all bugs if u want to; still better than many other games. i'm even considering to play it again and im quite picky myself. but maybe it's just a fan talking in me :johngordon:

I loved the original Black Mirror, so was always going to try this despite of negative reviews.
It's nowhere as good as the original, I got it on sale - it's not worth full price, but if you can get it on sale and you loved the original, then get it.
Controls are a bit jerky, camera doesn't work great and the way it pans across the screen means you could easily miss items. The puzzles were great - not too difficult but there weren't very many.
The game was quite short in terms of game play - it took me 6hrs to complete, which I found a bit disappointing.
Warning about using headsets - there's quite a few high pitched noises that could cause ear bleed!!

I've played the rest of the franchise, even though it was a while ago, but I remember I loved the gloomy mystical atmosphere these games had and I gotta say, ain't nothing changed in this reboot. It immersed me from the very beginning. Now this ain't really a point n click game, more of an interactive adventure story. It's quite short, the world scenes are not very big either, it's got clunky walking mechanics and a horrible camera, but it was of no consequence to me. Maybe it was my nostalgia speaking, but having a chance to lose myself in the story of a cursed noble family again was fascinating. Just... wait until there is a sale. Buying this full price might make some folks say it lacks content, and they wouldn't be entirely wrong.
P.S. I've just noticed the approval rating of only 42% for this game. Come on, folks, it's way better than that!

I'm still recommending it but if you are not a fan of the first 3 games, you may decide to get another game instead.
If you are like me a fan of the other games, you'll probably be disappointed. Yet, it is not horrible despite its flaws (bad controls, character gets blocked by... nothing...?, a few graphical bugs that thankfully don't impact the game, and lastly you can collect pieces of pictures that only serve for the bonus puzzles outside the game).
It offers an ineresting alternative to the story of the Black Mirror and its origin.
The music and ambiance is very good.
Very short (I spent more time on each of the previous ones) and with very few puzzles that aren't even an actual challenge.
Get it on sale, but the price is too high for the contents. I've had free games with more/better content than that.

I thought this game was pretty enjoyable. It had a decent story line and good graphics. The atmosphere and thematic elements were similar to the other Black Mirror games. I'm a bit surprised that many other reviews were negative, although I can agree with them that controlling movement in the game was a little tricky.

Rating: 6/10
its not bad at all. Nice voice acting, looks nice, story is ok... but it's rather short.
This game could have been so much more.
Recommended on sale for fans of Black Mirror series or Point 'n click fanatics.

This is very good game with dark mysterious story. Again as one of cursed Gordons investigating what happened in the Black Mirror castle.
Graphics is very nice.
I played whole game on Steam controller with no issue.
There are some minor bugs. I used auto-save once. Achievements are not working in Linux version.
I wish it to be longer and walking more world oriented while platforming.
