Been on my wishlist since 2019, it's going to be weird to see it gone after all this time.
Was the wait worth it? Probably not.
Is the game fun? I suppose for the price, sure.
It's a visual novel. Some spelling and grammar mistakes here and there, but passable for English speakers. You basically start the game and are instantly thrown into a series of waves of battles with next to nothing explained. Turn based oldschool battles, which I personally like.
Combat is very straightforward, but it's a complete mystery at times, and as a result, a single wasted turn can mean the difference between living and dying.
Take the skill "Rotten Food" which is described ingame as "Do feed the troll, after all!" and that's it. Is it an attack? A buff? It's just up to you to sacrifice your precious few turns to try to figure it out, all the while you're getting absolutely ragdolled by the enemies.
Status effects are a complete mystery. Sometimes in battle, I'll just not be able to attack. Is it because I'm debuffed? Is it hunger? Who knows! I have a bunch of icons on my character, like an egg, a cloud, a star. Maybe the cloud means it's overcast and I can't see? Who knows!
Game is also ridiculously imbalanced though, for example, your healer can heal the party for 20~30HP, and enemies hit you for 250HP~700HP on average making it completely pointless to even try to use. Food items only heal 1% ~ 3% of your life, which is basically pointless, and cannot ever be relied on to save you.
I played for a bit, defeated as the 10th of an 11th wave battle was nothing but turtles, the ones that hit you for up to 750HP a piece. You have like 4,000HP, and when there's 7 or so of them pummeling you, and none of your recovery options do anything, you're basically doomed unless you can manage to get amazing RNG and have them miss enough times.
Honestly, it feels doable though, but I know in order to get there, I'll need to be starting new games over and over again just to get a basic grasp of what I'm seeing, what I'm doing, and a few more restarts just to understand the skills, items, etc.
I'm going to say yes for now, but this is one of those times where I wish Steam had a 'middle of the road' option. I like it, I hate it, and until it gets balanced a bit more, if it ever does, it's borderline impossible.

If you like their earlier games, you will like this one aswell. A bit shorter, but that's the point, RPG and waves of different enemies!
