I am 12 years old. Life is simple. I come home and play WipeOut. Life is good.
I am 35 years old. Life is not simple... but I come home and play BallisticNG... and so - Life is good.

Works out of the box on a
steam deck.

A WipEout clone that's somehow better than WipEout. Incredible physics, glorious soundtrack, forklift certification events; probably a top 5 greatest racing games of all time.

A love letter to WipeOut games. It also runs wonderfully on the Steam Deck OLED at 90 Hz.

Don't be fooled by the graphics on display - the driving physics is the best rendition of wipeout like agrav racing in the market. I have tried an emulated wipeout pure, pulse, redout, and grip - I liked both wipeouts and this game is better than them.
Redout is a more technical game and the ships feels like rockets than an anti gravity vehicle - it's far faster but Ballisticng strikes a great balance of speed and technical execution for handling - I definitely prefers BNG's feel.
There is split screen coop with great customisation options and runs like a dream on steamdeck (make sure not to select any compatibility versions while using it in linux - there is weird acceleration bug)

I never played WipEout but I wonder if the people who did also leaned forward using the PS3 as I lean forward when I play BallisticNG

Look no further. This is the one.
Of all the WipEout-style racers I've tried, this one is by far the most faithful to its source material.
On top of that, it has a lot of content and great handling. The sense of speed is fantastic and it really feels like you're gliding instead of being glued to the floor. Easy recommend for this underrated game.
