Anomaly 2 is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Anomaly Warzone Earth. Maintaining the core elements of the original – tactical planning and the on-field Commander to support troops in combat – Anomaly 2 adds new features to the single-player campaign and puts your skills to a test in a completely unique experience: the dynamic tower defense vs. tower offense multiplayer mode!

This game's quite a nice upgrade from old entries, worth trying.

This evaluation is mainly based on my previous review of Anomaly : Warzone Earth.
This game takes tower defense principles and completely reverses it : we are the attacker and it needs to plan which path to take to get to the different objectives. If on first missions we can build a squad and go straight to the goal, story progress will force to correctly use strengths and weaknesses of units and enemy towers to finish the game. The difference with the previous game is about your units that have now two modes, that you can switch between quite quickly (with a small cooldown). Game is then much more dynamic than Warzone Earth, and will need many uses of active pause to finish missions.
A very good game which offers polished and enjoyable gameplay first, and which can propose a great challenge in later levels.
About achievements : half is about solo and will be obtained quite easily (only one requires farming). The other half is about multiplayer, and considering game release date, servers are completely deserted : have no hope to obtain them outside of finding another player and willingly reproducing unlocking conditions.

Anomaly 2 is a solid game. It has fantastic graphics, sounds, and the story, for a tower defense (offense) game, is actually relatively interesting. The voice acting is still a bit comical as it was in the original game. Anomaly 2 sought to reinvent their own game with new additions such as morphing units. This effectively makes it easier to manage your units since you have a smaller number to think about, but each unit morphs into a completely different version. This was definitely a big improvement and I enjoyed it. There is also a host of new enemies, each of which i thought was a great addition, and also two of the commander powers from the previous game have been replaced. I also thought that this was a good change.
Overall Anomaly 2 isn't as great as the original, but it is still a solid game.

This game is pure BS. And thas is for one major reason. You can not save the game. And let me tell you, levels can be very looong to play. And you make one mistake, all down the drain, you have to replay whole mission. Some missions have save checkpoints, but some dont, and it is really pain in the ass to play it perfectly through. Some enemy towers are not well balanced and you have major problem to eliminate them even with 2 level ups of your units, and also the story is so bad that my 11 year old daughter cam come with a better story then this game. Except, it would have some Unicorns included. I loved Anomaly 1, but this game is not fun, it is frustrating. Avoid, and spend money and time on some other game.
Edit:
Ok, I played this game till the end of single player campaign, and I have been wrong in my initial judging of this game. It took me cca 19 hours to finish the game, and after few missions, when I got the grip of the game I actually enjoyed it very much, it was very satisfying destroying towers, and in my good consciousness I had to change my review to positive one.

I dont know, this is one where I wish there was a 'Mixed' review option. I don't want to give it a rate down but I couldn't get into this game at all, it just didn't hold my interest.
And looking back at some of the reviews, I'm not alone.
