a great RTS but no body know. If they can update their graphic, it would be massive positive

too buggy. needs touch up on byzantine skin. more byzantine and less arabic also wrong armor
edit: invisble arty shots.
byzantine is missing their belts on their mail.
massive lag randomly,
cav again with melee wont attack...
byzantine light infantry are using the wrong helmets and they look too arabic.
better hotkeys too. AOE 4 has the best hotkeys as well. maybe a setting to switch from WASD to grid keys and a home key to the capital
i like it but it needs ton of work

Military units reaching level 3 can get a skill like life leaching.

Reminds me of old school RTS games, the gaming market honestly need more games like this.

I would say that overall I do like it, but I am upset about some things, mainly 2. Performance is pretty good, better than Ancient wars sparta I would say, as that game I had constant issues with dysync when playing with my brother in 1v1 or v ai.
One thing I dislike is it is pretty barren compared to Sparta, i get it though since it is early access. Just sucks because there are villages you can capture but they give no tribute.
My biggest complaint is that it seems that some factions were given more love in the model design than others. The Templars, Russians, and Arabs look pretty good on model design for weapons and units, thought there is room for improvement in my opinion, but the one faction I am heavily disappointed in is the Byzantine empire. They don't even look like Byzantines at all. They are a lazy reskin of the Persians from ancient wars Sparta. Their weapons, and units look like crap and just don't represent what they are supposed to be, and for me that was heavily disappointing as I love the Byzantine empire, I play them in AoE 4, despite not winning half the time, due to their culture and history being something cool. It kind of reminded me of the Romans from ancient wars Sparta, also being disappointed with the models of units as they were pretty bad in my opinion, some of them being reskins of Macedonian models. Besides them, I genuinely liked the other factions.
Disregarding my whining of that, The game is pretty fun. Generally good and has potential. I would recommend when on sale, but urge anyone interested to try out ancient wars Sparta as it is more fleshed out in the sense of factions and game play mechanics. Overall 7 out of 10 (6 because of Byzantines but that just comes down to nit picky preference in model and not game play)

Ancient Wars: Medieval Crusades is a remastered version of the 2008 RTS game The Golden Horde, developed by World Forge. Having played the original back in the day, I have a basis for comparison, and I must say this remastered version is much more polished and playable. However, since it’s still in early access, I won’t give a full review just yet, but I have some observations that could enhance the gameplay experience:
1. More Faction Variety: If I remember correctly, in the original The Golden Horde, each faction's units had distinct development paths. In this version, however, all factions follow the same (light-medium-heavy infantry) scheme. More unique units for each faction would add a lot, making each one feel special in its own way.
2. Faster Resource Generation/Faster Game Pacing
3. More Skirmish Maps and Skirmish Settings
4. Hostile Neutral Units Spawning on Skirmish Maps
The game development is progressing well; rather than adding new playable factions, I would focus on differentiating the current ones from each other, instead of introducing 2-3 more factions that are structurally identical.

Absolutely a great RTS, so much unique units, buildings, upgrades, etc. As it stands, the game is still raw to a degree, though most strongly recommend supporting it, what's currently available is better than most RTS, the units, look and feel of the game are very unique. It's nowhere near as modern as AOE 3-4, though I enjoy it much better, I find it the overall better game. I would like to see some features added:
- More player colors, white, black, tan, gray, army green etc.
- More skirmish options, faster resource options, for a quicker game pace at times
- Direct AI moves, attack here, defend this, build your army, gather said resources
- Able to reveal map, get rid of fog of darkness, optional in skirmish settings
- A couple of more factions (paid DLC)
