Amid Evil

Retro FPS but you are a mage/warrior so your weapons are magic staves and weird thingies.
Also a big axe.
It does remind a bit of Hexen/Heretic for this reason.
It's right on point in terms of old school FPS, except the level design is much better than it used to be in the 90s.
The game looks good, even if it's quite funky in style (Colours, enemies, level design). The final level is quite memorable even.
The weapons are great, and have different use depending on the situation/enemies. And you got a sort of rage meter that make them much more powerful and how they act.
The movement is also right on point. Good speed, good jump, no ADS. Classic FPS.
Overall, a very well done Retro FPS.
If you played Quake/Doom/etc, you know what to expect.

Just get the new blood bundle you nerd they're all good

Doom eternal for men who think about the roman empire

+ Brutal fantasy boomer shooter inspired by games like Hexen and Heretic.
+ Great level design and environments puzzles. One of the levels in particular stands out and is just pure psychedelic imagination.
+ Interesting and distinct zones.
+ Just the right length and doesn't overstay its welcome (so says yer mum) both for the zones and the whole game.
+ RTX ray tracing puts a nice modern touch on the unfiltered textures and abstract environment.
- Can't really say anything negative about game except that if you're not a fan of the genre you're not going to like it.
Side note: Don't know why they're called "boomer shooters" when these types of games were made by Gen X and played by Millennials. I distinctly recall Boomers being shocked by these types of video games.
