Edit
Airship Commander is my attempt to cram together a Wing Commander inspired mission structure, with the multi-station B-17 bomber sim popular in 1990s. Except with airships. Over a steampunk mega city one.
The game is all about doing what VR does well. Namely move slowly, communicate a tremendous sense of scale, and have all kinds of wild spectacle occurring around the player at different distances.

Really neat airship game with fantastic scale. The core game is solid with multiple game modes are in the current version along with a random scenario generator which gives this game quite a bit of content compared to other early access VR games. The game allows for LOTS of enemy and friendly ships flying at the same time so battles can get extremely explosive which is amazing to see in VR.
Flying blimps is slow (as expected) but it allows time to setup the best angles to attack enemy ships. Right now, you only need to get the broadside of your ship pointing towards the enemy and the AI handles firing. Hitting an enemy with cannon fire looks amazing and feels great seeing them fall from the sky in flames.
My only qualm is how the game handles flying on the Y axis. Currently, you can fly anywhere on the X axis but pitching up and down on the Y axis is not possible. The game handles the Y axis by moving your ship up or down to a predetermined altitude. This method ensures you engage ships only when they are on the same altitude but when dealing with a airship game like this, it feels a bit unnatural not being able to pitch your airship up or down.
The game is still early and as such, things like textures and animations are still missing. Whats important is the core game as it stands is solid and there is a great foundation for the developer to build upon. Very interested to see how this game develops.
Also, all the debris you see in the screenshots is legit and looks amazing in game.

The atmosphere they have created is great. Commanding your ship high above the city while battle rages around you is a lot of fun.
The gameplay has you switching up and down the decks of your ship. Each deck serves a different purpose, from steering to dropping bombs.
Sure it's a little rough around the edges, but that's what early acess is all about. Dev seems to have a passion for the game and I'm excited to see where it goes from here.
