Hey, you just died. But don’t worry! All the major religions were wrong! Instead of ascending to a new plane of existence, you are now self-employed in the Afterlife with your own haunted house to run. Keep people just scared enough to keep believing in you, but not enough to alert the local authorities and you’ll be able to live forever and maybe get your own reality show.
Afterlife Empire was designed and written by Danielle Maiorino, created by Autobotika, published by The Fine Young Capitalists and funded by the gaming community. Enjoy a game with a diverse cast of all different races, religion and creeds funded by Gamergate and /v/
Profits from the game will be given to charity to prevent colon cancer, provide scholarship and awards to up and coming game developers and other projects that show how amazing the gaming community can be.
So stay awhile and create your own Afterlife Empire and see how amazing Gamers and the gaming community can be.

Very enjoyable game.
It isn't the best you'll ever play, but behind a simple principle of building your own spooky house, you have a swell little thing that will allow you quite some time of fun.
Learning the various quirks isn't perfectly intuitive, and the game clearly lacks "personalization" options, even for little things (although demanding it to be similar to The Sims might be pushing it a bit, sure). Also, more variety in the music might be a bit nicer, although you can just turn it off and put whichever you want over it.
I don't know if it is possible to remove or rotate furniture; I'm not sure if it's because the option isn't there (which would be quite a flaw) or if I'm just dumb and haven't looked enough (which is perfectly possible).
However, the small touches of humor, the quirky style, the engaging gameplay, the swell little ideas, they all make for a very charming and sweet game that is far more fun than a lot of big productions; you cannot expect it to become your favorite game, but I doubt it is what the creators had in mind. They merely intended to make something people could enjoy softly.
I'll have a big criticism though over the limit of "one scare-trap per room" (although maybe it changes later on in the game once you progress ? Who knows). It renders a lot of options, creativity and personality difficult to push much too far. A shame.
I received it after supporting the Indiegogo, but for its price, it is much more than worth it. The game also has a huge potential for mod support, so you can expect some mindblowing additional content from the community.
So, yeah, definitely recommanding it. Again, this won't be a tremendous TOTALLY NEW experience; but it will be a sweet and fun one.
