A Ton Of Feathers
People who suffer from epilepsy or have a strong aversion to flashing imagery should not play this game
A ton of feathers is a VR game that pushes the experiential boundaries of VR to the absolute limit. You play as a writer in a future dystopian City asked to hunt down a serial killer by exploring The criminals books and writings, you are transported in to bizarre Worlds where you will meet Kings, robots, sentient teddy bears and more. The games genre hops from comedic to psychological horror With an overarching story that blends the narrative together in a hallucinogenic Robotik Joyride. A ton of feathers has to be experienced to be understood and presents a story that can only be told in VR.

I had this in my wishlist for a minute but once the dev dropped it to $2, it was an easy decision to buy it and I'm glad I did. VR is certainly capable of placing the player in some intensely surreal situations but yet most of what Steam has to offer for 'weird' VR games are on-rails new age snorefests with bad trance soundtracks or short 4 minute music videos that lack the depth required to revisit later.
A Ton of Feathers is an assault on the senses for 20% of the runtime and a fairly chill experience the other 80%. It features minimal interactivity with the environments but the environments themselves are so captivating it's really not a problem. It's deep without trying too hard. It's complex without the use of bad metaphors. It's genuine and has an auto-biographical feel but you can also just space out and look at the 16-bit-utopia-but-in-hell textures if you prefer.
It's a crime to sell this for $1.99 so get on it and be glad you did.
You are made of milk and love.

You can view my review & gameplay here:
This is a 26 minute, mostly cinematic experience with some very basic interactions, running on the Unreal Engine. It is unpleasant visually and audibly, at times. It is artistic, experimental, and just plain weird. I think it may be autobiographical from the dev and it certainly feels at times as though he is talking to himself mostly and then sometimes at you.
I don't really understand what happens in this experience. There's loosely connected stories. Variations on themes about life, death, disappointment, hope & game development. It's definitely not for everyone.
However, I enjoyed it. I think it's a steal at only $2. I definitely think it was overpriced when it first came out for $20 and, wisely, the price was lowered. Now, it's a shame that it doesn't have more reviews. I hope you buy it. And I hope you don't go blind.

a trippy VR movie. i think? its very colorful and theres something in there.
I don't know what i witnessed and there is surely people that can put it into better words than me.
but something tells me this deserves a positive more than a negative.
Thanks for not doing countless jumpscares.

It's interesting experience for the price. Otherwise it feels quite unfinished and I'm really not a fan of some effectes that was used.
But if you're in for some unique VR art than this could work for you.
Oh and this is faaar from "the most intense VR game".

someone once asked me, "Hey, I want to experience reality from the perspective of a dementia patient who took PCP, you got any ideas?" So i recommended them this game. The police found them dead in their apartment 2 weeks later. 10/10

Although it is short, this game has it's charm; from great atmosphere and sound to amazing poetic story telling.
To say anymore would ruin a bit of the experience but i can say i had a sense of tearful joy when hearing one of my favourite tracks by Negative xp, whilst watching the sun sink into the ocean.
10/10
a must have for VR.
Edit; i bought this when it was $20 or more, I don't regret it.
