A Short Hike
El autor aún no proporcionó una descripción en tu idioma.
Hike, climb, and soar through the peaceful mountainside landscapes of Hawk Peak Provincial Park. Follow the marked trails or explore the backcountry as you make your way to the summit. Along the way, meet other hikers, discover hidden treasures, and take in the world around you. Explore the island any way you like. Choose your own path to follow and see where it leads you. You never know what you might stumble into! Hike at your own pace — there’s no need to rush to the summit! Take your time fishing along the river banks or swimming by the lakeshore. Collect hidden treasures to reach new heights. Try taking a dive off the mountain peaks to soar above the forests. Chat with the other hikers you meet along your route. You might be able to help each other out! Listen to a lush original soundtrack by Mark Sparling that progresses dynamically as you explore the wilderness.

I played this game thanks to Steam's family sharing, finished it and just bought it so I could write this review.
I am a person which not much time to play games, who also does not want to spend too much money on them. I have always tried to buy games with very ratio (I try that for every euro that I spend on a game, it gives me at least 4 h of playtime). That is why I bought games like Slay the Spire, Factorio or Oxygen not Included; you can play them infinetely and not get bored. But with this mindset, after some years, I found myself starting not to enjoy games and prioritizing the hours played rather than the fun in playing. I also played some short games like Portal and Portal 2, but I did it while looking at the same time how many chapters and hours I had still in front of me in order to beat them. I started focusing on finishing my backlog instead of having fun. Gaming became a chore: not a dull one, but not near as enjoying as when I started playing videogames. It all led me to stop having much motivation to play.
With my self imposed need of finishing all games in my backlog, I run into a two part youtube video by Daryl Talks Games called "A Misguided Guide To Finishing Your Gaming Backlog". I recommend seeing them, they are really entertaining. Those videos motivated me enough to make a spreadsheet with all backlog games that I had not played or not finished; and ordering them with a ratio (I did this by dividing its Metacritic user score by the hours that were indicated in the How long to beat website). Surprisingly for me, almost all games that I was playing at the time were at the bottom of the list, which does not mean much because the applied ratio penalizes significantly long games, but also made me think.
At the top of the list was the Stanley Parable and A Short Hike. The latter had already been recommended by two of my best friends and as I could play the game through Steam Family I decided to give it a try.
This game is awesome. One of the best games I've played in a long time. It is cute, relaxing and gives you almost total freedom to explore. Flying feels absolutely amazing. The music is perfect. The story is meaningful, the characters are cute and some of them even have small story arcs. All of this condensed in 2-5 h gameplay. The challenges are fun and have the adequate difficulty. But more importantly, I had not felt this good playing a videogame since a lot time ago. I spent a lot of time exploring and flying aimlessly, just enjoying the moment. When I reached the top, I first thought "Is this it?". But then it made me realize that the journey is greater than the destiny, and the journey had been a very pleasant one. Now I will try to apply that to my life. What more can I ask from a videogame? 10/10
