Hell Let Loose
You've never played World War 2 the way it was meant to be played… with lumbering tanks dominating the battlefield, crucial supply chains fuelling the frontlines, being a cog in the machine of colossal combined arms warfare. Hell Let Loose puts you in the chaos of war, complete with deep player-controlled vehicles, a dynamically evolving front line, and crucial unit-focused gameplay that commands the tide of battle. Featuring sweeping maps modelled on real reconnaissance images and satellite data, the entire battlefield is divided up into large capture sectors – allowing for emergent and constantly unique gameplay that pits two forces of fifty players in a fight to the death across fields, bridges, forests and towns on an ever-evolving front line. When a sector is captured, it will generate one of three resources for your team, creating a complex meta-game that will influence your team’s march to victory. Take to the battlefield in 50 vs 50 multiplayer across huge maps. Choose one of 14 playable roles within infantry, recon and armour unit types, each equipped with different weapons, vehicles and equipment. Play as an Officer, Scout, Machine Gunner, Medic, Engineer, Tank Commander and more to experience every aspect of World War II combat.

After ~100 Hours – My Take on Hell Let Loose
After just over 100 hours, Hell Let Loose has firmly earned its place as currently my favorite WWII game by a landslide — not because it’s constantly fun, but because it’s deeply rewarding when approached the right way.
This is not a game you play to relax your trigger finger. It’s a game you play to think, to cooperate, and to slowly understand how a battlefield actually works.
Kills are not the main currency of this game, it's rather map control, spawn placement, timing, and teamwork, these will contribute far more than personal stats to the win for your team.
Some of my most satisfying matches ended with an average K/D—but I knew I helped win by holding a sector, defending a garrison, or enabling the team to push through a behind enemy lines garrison placement.
The atmosphere is excellent: sound design, scale, and pacing all sell the feeling of being a small part of a very big battle. When the team clicks, the game delivers moments that no fast-paced shooter can.
Who I Recommend This Game To
I strongly recommend Hell Let Loose if you:
Enjoy tactical, slower-paced shooters
Like team-based games where communication matters
Don’t need constant action to feel engaged
Are okay with learning through trial, error, and patience
Appreciate strategy, positioning, and logistics over kill counts
If you like games where understanding systems makes you better over time, this game shines.
Who I Don’t Recommend It To
I would not recommend this game if you:
Want instant action and constant firefights
Play mainly for high K/D ratios
Don’t like relying on teammates
Get frustrated by dying without always knowing why
Prefer solo or arcade-style FPS games
This game will punish impatience and lone-wolf behavior.
The Right Mood to Play Hell Let Loose
Play this game when you’re:
In the mood to focus
Willing to move slowly and think ahead
Ready to listen and adapt
Okay with quiet moments followed by sudden chaos
Don’t boot it up expecting a quick dopamine hit. Boot it up when you want a meaningful, immersive battle experience.
Final Thought
Hell Let Loose is a strategy game disguised as a shooter.
If that idea excites you, you’ll probably love it.
If it doesn’t, this game will feel frustrating and unforgiving. (and your review of the game will look like "run, die, spawn, repeat...")
For the right player, though, it’s absolutely worth the time investment.

Starting with the pros:
This isn't a game where only the guys getting kills are useful.
Playing as an engineer and building defenses can win the match. Playing as support and dropping supplies for your officer is critical. Even just driving a transport truck to the front line makes a huge difference. You feel important even when you're not shooting.
This game makes you feel like a small cog in a giant war machine.
You will die a lot. But the fact that a single bullet can drop you makes every decision matter.
It works both ways, when you're the one who lands that perfect long-range shot or clears a room with your squad, it feels incredibly satisfying.
The cons:
The game does a terrible job of teaching you how to play.
There is no tutorial, so the first hours you probably will be mostly useless, relying on squad mates to teach you, but usually everyone expects you to learn on the fly, or be an expert already.
Like all team based games, your experience can be ruined by a silent squad with an officer who doesn't talk or place spawns.
But when you land in a good squad, the game is incredible.
You'll occasionally get stuck on scenery, have issues vaulting over a wall, or see a tank do something weird(not the best physics). The game has improved a ton, but it's not perfectly polished, and you'll run into some frustrating quirks now and then.
TLDR
If you're tired of the hyper fast, run-and-gun chaos of other shooters, this game is for you.
The game has its rough edges, and it asks you to be patient and communicative, but if you are, it delivers an unmatched WWII experience.

I am going to rate this game a thumbs up but its not without its bugs and here is why...
Graphics 10/10
This game has good graphics on the epic or low settings.
Game play 7.5/10
Game play can feel good at times when you get in a good spot. However, running for miles and miles can get boring, just to get to the front and end up dying in less then 30 seconds, can really make you up set. If your a new player, DON'T put yourself as the squad leader. DON'T make a squad of your own and lock it out. Spawn as a riflemen for the first 30 levels within a squad. Getting familiar with the rifle is something at every new player should do. I am level 34 and I still use the rifle primarily. At times I feel like my soldier cant do the things that he should be able to do. Like trying to get around obstacles. Other times cant even lay down in the prone without not being able to put your rifle down all the way to aim, or MG bi-pods for that matter. Not having a map on the top right or left of your screen sucks, but its just a realistic shooter so I get it.
Issues
8/10
I have really good internet, and for some reason my PING sky rockets on this game. I have put the graphics down, cleared my CACHE files, even looked up on YouTube how to fix this issue by putting a new IP in my network. Still every once in a while I get kicked for two high of ping. Anyone have a fix please share.
A list of things that seasoned players have issues with...
- Team killing
- No mic
- Going off by yourself thinking that your going to kill a bunch of the enemy all by yourself. (on this you will be lucky to get more than 2 kills per life. When in all reality you might get 1)
- New people not knowing how to drive troop transports/Tanks/Supply trucks ect, or where to go.
- New players getting on artillery and spam the fire that end up killing your own team. (in mass numbers)
- New players not asking questions about the game.
- Squad leaders not knowing how to set up OP's or Garrys.
- New players shooing at targets to fast. A example of this if you are in a trench and see 5 or 6 enemy and you open up on them before your squad has time to get into place, or you see enemy so far away on Omaha that you miss every shot you take and end up without any ammo. Take it slow don't rush things.
- New players that think this game is like COD and run into the line of fire and get smoke checked 5 seconds after spawning. This game is slow paced and not a run and gun kind of game.
- New players that run in the line of fire from there team's MG gunner and the new player gets TK and then punishes the Gunner for killing them.
- New players saying they got 6 kills in one match or bragging. (look no one cares how many kills you got, just contribute to the team and be a team player)
Difficulty 10/10
This game your going to die a lot. After you die from a enemy that you cant even see you have to wait up to 10 sec on the "Killed in Action" screen. Then up to 30 seconds to re-spawn. At times you don't even know what your supposed to be doing. The only thing a new player thinks is get to were everyone else is on your screen and start shooting at anything that does not a blue marker on the top of their head.
Final notes and Tips:
This game is a lot of fun and battles can last up to 1.5 hours. Having a mic can better you and your squad. *TIP* after the game is over and you are looking at your stats click the lowest level player on your team on the icon that looks like a metal. This will give them extra XP. Put time to finish what you start, unless your on a toxic server. Also I don't know if its just me but when I refresh the server list and see games that have 99/100 people in them I just keep scrolling down the list. Chances are its already full. The last thing that I am going to leave you with is this. Don't rush things. This game is slow pace not a COD game. Have patience, your enemy is dumb and will run out in the middle of a open field and make stupid mistakes to get the front faster. Don't be that guy! Think to yourself if you would hide there then your enemy will to.

After about 10 hours spent in Hell Let Loose, this is my experience and my opinion about this game.
I had this game on my wishlist for about 2 years and I decided to give it a chance anyway, considering that I have friends who play this game. It is totally different. It's unlike any shooter I've ever played in my life. It's a totally different experience and at the same time one of or even the best experience I've ever had in a shooter game.
The graphics are excellent from my point of view, the optimization is very good, I can play on epic and I get around 150-250 fps, depending on where I am on the map and if there are many explosions in the area
For the most part, the community is very friendly, communication is good and the overall experience is a good one. Indeed, I also entered some servers where no one spoke at all, and because of the fact that communication was 0, it was logical to lose the game.
The atmosphere of the game, the sounds of the characters as you kill them, make you feel like you're on the battlefield and make you realize how quickly and how easily it can all be over. This game made me think and imagine what the people who fought in World War II and other wars went through. Hell Let Loose is my favorite game at the moment and I really enjoy and have a lot of fun playing this game.
Sometimes it can be stressful, other times it can be a lot of fun. As long as communication is good between players and you have friends to play with this game is, in my opinion, almost the perfect shooter. So far I haven't had any problems with the game, no bugs.
On a funny note, this game can help you a lot to learn German xD. Among the first matches I played I put a supply box on the ground and a kid started yelling at me in German. The only thing that I understood was when he said "RGA", that's my name xD, and I didn't want to be rude so I answered him and I said "tidin tidin tidin tidin engine kaput". After that, he killed me :DDDDDDD
And the most important thing this game has taught me is the song Erika. Thanks to this game I started to feel like a real German.
I recommend this game to anyone who loves shooter games and wants a brilliant experience.
