9/10
rate Pixark very highly, 9/10 - here's why though:
I am a dad of a 6 year old. We spend many hours playing games together.
Minecraft: My on still loves it - but as an adult i'm really struggling to find any enjoyment. I only play it because he likes it, and I enjoy playing with him.
Arc: I love Arc, great game - I turned off all the blood/gore (including removing the blood textures). removed all the guns, made it PvE and we play on a private server just the 2 of us, so its very kid friendly. Essentially for us it's a building game with dinosaur taming. Even so, my son just doesnt seem to enjoy it - I think it's too realistic - he has the same view of "kid friendly" Arc that I do of minecraft - he doesnt mind playing, but isnt really into it.
Pixark: It works for both of us - it has the levelling/items/"proper" building/mmo feel that I like, with the minecraft easy-to-play child friendly graphics he likes. It's a really good balance.
So for any parent sick to death of minecraft, but who doesnt yet want to expose their child to the more teen/adult games - Pixark is a really good balance.
We use a private server that I host with the following settings:
- God mod
- InfiniteStats
- All Engrams
- Instant taming
- PvE
- XP and harvesting rates x10
- Dinosaur levelling multiplier x 10

Cute and fun game, I would consider it better than Ark for a couple of reasons:
1. Build system is SOOO much easier och simple, nich to not have to struggle with snap-points and being able to build anywhere without looking up a 30 min youtube video and redoing it 100 times.
2. Taming is easier but creatures seems stronger, especially the magic ones.
3. More buildingoptions

"PixARK" is a voxel adventure that seamlessly combines creativity with survival, delivering a charming sandbox experience. Developed by Snail Games, this game is a welcoming entry into the world of voxel-based gaming.
Visually, "PixARK" embraces the blocky charm of voxel games with a burst of lively colors. The landscapes, from lush forests to towering mountains, create a visually captivating world. The diverse creatures, each with its unique design, add an extra layer of enchantment to the overall experience.
Survival in "PixARK" feels familiar yet refreshing. Gathering resources, crafting tools, and constructing structures follow the standard sandbox formula, but the game adds its own flair with magical elements and the ability to tame and ride creatures, including dinosaurs.
Exploration is where "PixARK" truly shines. The procedurally generated worlds offer endless possibilities for discovery. Uncovering hidden caves, stumbling upon mysterious structures, and encountering fantastical creatures keep the sense of wonder alive.
RPG elements, such as character progression and skill trees, bring depth to the gameplay. Enhancing your character's abilities and unlocking new crafting recipes as you explore adds a satisfying layer of accomplishment.
Multiplayer is a significant aspect of the "PixARK" experience. Joining or hosting servers with other players introduces cooperative and competitive elements. Teaming up to build impressive structures or engaging in PvP battles adds a social dimension to the voxel adventure.
Admittedly, the game's performance can be a bit inconsistent, with occasional frame rate drops and optimization issues. However, it's reassuring that developers often address these issues through updates.
In conclusion, "PixARK" is a charming addition to the voxel-based sandbox genre. Its delightful visuals, accessible survival mechanics, and the infusion of magical elements create an experience that caters to a broad audience. Despite some performance hiccups, the game's whimsical world and cooperative potential make it a worthwhile journey for those who appreciate sandbox exploration and creativity.

I'm torn about PixARK. On the positive note, I think the game with blocky and vibrate world, which is made out by dinosaurs is an interesting idea. It’s close to I imagined it would be like as a child. The graphics are nicely done, and the best rides have been mine, such as when I was on a T-Rex’s back during a forest ride or at a cliffside site where I built a beautiful base.
But, ugh, the frustrations. The game is cloggy and unresponsive with frequent frame freezes and stuttering “frame rate”. I have miscounted how many times I had made a mistake until the madness plagued me, like falling through the world or getting stuck in a tree. However, I must say the UI is bad - this toolbox is hard to use and navigate, so resources and inventory management can be a pain in the neck.
What also got my attention is some of the things which seem very strange such as the one where dinosaurs can behave in an aggressive manner at one point and totally passive the next. And as for the equation for the hunger and thirst system, why did you try to simplify it? I'm not sure why I never satisfy my craving, even though I must have eaten and drunk lots till then.
Although all this, I still feel my self-giving up to PixARK. The fact that the game has the capability to tie me to it is an important point. Possibly it is the idea of a realm where I can enlist a Velociraptor and use it for war as my mount. Perhaps it is the excitement of navigating a new world or part and finding a hidden treasure.
And for the moment I would recommend players of survival games and dinosaurs especially to get this game, but still with the warning that it is structure and everything is still a work in progress If the bugs get worked out and more substance gets wrapped up into the game, it could undoubtedly end to be a true masterpiece.
Rating: 6.5/10
Recommendation: If pixARK is your interest, it's better if you keep track of updates about this game before purchasing it because you might want to wait for a sale or a major update. Despite the lack of some more polishing and with more care with regard to details this could be an outstanding experience

This game is HELLA FUN! Just like Ark, cept with Pixels and obvs some differences. I wish the modders would continue on for some QoL stuff (like pulling mats from boxes to build) but otherwise, I'm digging it! ;-)
