Basket is my least favorite American sport.
I asked the community which NBA game on steam to play.
2020 and 2015 are apparently the least bad.
Gameplay:
I can't compare with other NBA 2k's because I haven't played since Allen Iverson's 03.
But I enjoy playing this one, the game is smooth and stable, the difficulty is easily adaptable to your level.
Progression through the game is fast, and the gameplay can be adapted according to ability.
Dribbling is much more complex than I remember, where I used to dribble all over the place with the SG.
Gameplay can be adapted to make the game very arcade-like, big dunk, stealing, fast pass, alley oops and I love it.
The MyCareer mode is very bad, we need a very low level to progress, better than Jordan but ridiculous all the same.
I probably don't understand the concept of this mode, even though it's one I'm very fond of in any other sports.
The ambiance is very immersive, though, and you really feel like an NBA player.
The other “online” modes are inactive, and the game can be considered dead if you don't play against the AI.
The game is dead, but I still enjoy the occasional match, so I can only recommend it if you don't want to play online.
If you like sports games, come and discover what's available on steam.

First game on my Steam account was this game, lol. Played it a lot, now that servers are shut down, i cant access MyPlayer like the good ol' 2K games had the option where you can play MyCareer without servers being up. For Nostalgic reasons i recommend this game.

NBA 2K20 is easily the best basketball simulation available, hands down. The gameplay is incredibly smooth and responsive, with physics and animations that genuinely capture the excitement and realism of NBA action. MyCareer is addictive, offering endless depth and rewarding progression, while MyTeam remains fresh and engaging. Graphics are stunningly lifelike, player models spot-on, and the attention to detail is unmatched. Online play is consistently fun and competitive, keeping me coming back for hundreds of hours. If you love basketball, NBA 2K20 isn't just recommended; it's essential.

Still one of the best 2ks made. The only issue is modding on the steam deck for this game is virtually impossible. NO My career since its linked to online play.

A well calculated game...
NBA 2K20 continues the franchise’s tradition of delivering a highly realistic basketball simulation, with stellar visuals, tight gameplay, and robust content. However, it’s not without its flaws.
Pros:
Gameplay Mechanics: Smooth and responsive controls make dribbling, passing, and shooting feel intuitive. AI improvements enhance realism in both offense and defense.
Graphics and Presentation: Stunning visuals and lifelike player animations capture the essence of the NBA, while dynamic commentary keeps the experience immersive.
MyCareer Mode: A compelling storyline with celebrity involvement adds depth, alongside satisfying customization options for your player.
Variety of Modes: From MyTeam to MyLeague, there’s plenty of content to keep players engaged, whether you prefer competitive online play or managing a franchise.
Cons:
Microtransactions: Heavy reliance on in-game purchases in modes like MyTeam and MyCareer detracts from the enjoyment, especially for casual players.
Repetitiveness: Despite small updates, gameplay can feel overly familiar for long-time fans.
Server Issues: Online connectivity remains inconsistent, which can be frustrating for multiplayer enthusiasts.
Verdict:
NBA 2K20 shines in gameplay and presentation but stumbles with aggressive monetization and recurring technical hiccups. It’s an excellent choice for basketball fans who can overlook its shortcomings. Rating: 7.5/10.
