A colorful nice 2.5D puzzle platformer. I enjoyed this journey from start to the end, and completed the game in less than 6h. The visuals seem low poly but they are not, color composition is well chosen and the chapters have nice and different ambiance to each area. It completely relies on environmental story telling. Challenges are getting harder the further you process as in most puzzle platformers, so expect some trial and error passages especially towards the end, yet it's all solvable after a few tries and frustration is not too bad.. If it seems impossible, you missed something :) Sometimes you might think a jump should be possible, if it's not, it's not meant to work.
Game worked flawless without any crashes on Cachy OS with Proton 10.0-4 and great performance on my device (Asus ROG Ally 2023 + XG Mobile RX 6850m XT)

Aside from some technical issues (as I think the game hasn't been updated in the past few years to keep up with the newest Windows & drivers ecosystem), this is a very nice and mostly very pretty adventure. Some parts are a bit rough, but to compensate for this, some set pieces are very well made. The graphics are sometimes gorgeous (mostly in the cloudy environments); other times, they’re almost ugly, though (some caverns, for example).
I bought this on a sale (~$2 USD), so the value for me was enormous in this case. Finding the four artifacts (and seeing the true ending) is also very fun — they are hidden but not too much, which is great. Overall, a great experience.

Surprisingly, a pretty good short adventure.
The biggest highlight of the game is its bright and vibrant visuals and intriguing world. That’s its main strength. It’s clear that the game is quite simple in every sense, but it’s put together very nicely.
The gameplay is fairly classic, nothing surprising, but also never annoying — which is perfectly fine for its short length.
The worst part is the enemies: most of the time they’re just there to keep you engaged, but a few sections with robots and bugs are genuinely frustrating and slightly spoil the atmosphere of a fast-paced adventure. In my opinion, the true power of this game lies in its seamless, atmospheric journey — and it’s crucial not to get stuck anywhere for too long.
Nice little adventure worth picking up even at full price — and an absolute must-have on sale.

I had such a great time playing Planet Alpha. However, it did have a few issues at the beginning. The aspect ration on the game did not automatically adjust to my laptop. Also, the game crashed multiple times because it is not optimized for newer PCs. Luckily, I was able to find solutions to both issues in the help section of the Steam store. If you buy, this game, just know that you could encounter these issues.
Aside from the issue, the game was fun and imaginative. It has amazing graphics and game design. It has action and adventure too with just the right amount of pacing and problem-solving challenges. Really felt like I was exploring another planet.
If you like action 2D platformers, this is worth your time and money. 8 out of 10.

Nice sidescrolling jump & run platformer with some puzzles. No fighting! If you enjoyed Inside, give this 'Sci-Fi Alien on another Planet with Robots' themed Dystopia a chance. The start is a bit slow and unnecessary long, but overall really nice gameplay with beautiful colorful graphics. No free saving but checkpoints are fair. Buy when on sale 80+% off and you won't make a mistake.

Very pretty game with stunning graphics and atmospheric soundscapes. This is a 2D/2.5D platformer with some puzzle elements, where you are thrust into an alien planet scenario where you will have to get rid of or dodge wildlife and technological adversaries alike.
Graphics: Absolutely stunning with many creatures and plants sporting bioluminescence to give this an almost synthwave or neon/blacklight feel, especially at night time.
Sound: Atmospheric drones, beautifully crafted alien wildlife sounds and believable technology beeps and bloops to not only provide background but actually helping you survive.
Gameplay: Kind of surprised about the negative reviews talking about boring gameplay. It makes me wonder if these reviewers have taken the time to actually play past the first chapter...
Gameplay is pretty varied, with some tight platforming, some high-speed scenes, puzzles involving both objects and the planet's day/night cycle (and manipulation thereof), and some out-right tense action sequences with an over-arching story told purely graphically and through events around you.
Overall, a very enjoyable experience and warmly recommended.

nice graphics, controls etc. but the rest is a bit meh and frustrating 3/5
