Leviathan ~A Survival RPG~

I really really enjoyed the game! +18 patch required.
The main character is really cute and sexy, there´s a lot to do and you can use a lot of costumes. I really liked the H-scenes.
The progression system is very interesting. Unlike other RPGs, you don´t get stronger by gaining lvls, but by crafting better armour and weapons. This made the game very difficult at first, but once you understand how things work it actually gets very easy, which was a bit dissapointing (but still great for an H game).
Totally recommended! Had a really good time with the game and can´t wait to see more things from the developer.

Actually a pretty hard game, you NEED the uncensored patch to progress in the game and it's just a must. Great sex scenes wish just a little bit more, also need more save points i hated losing progress because I couldn't save. I still highly recommend.

First I want to say that I'm not big on all those survival style of games and this is one of the few that I played and kept my attention, so I really like this survival RPG because there is a lot to do. There's actually so much to do that you can't stay still and have to manage your health, hunger, thirst, sleep deprivation, and hygiene. I'm playing this game on Easy mode and Normal mode, so the difference between them is that in Easy mode you get a lot more items to start with and everything is a lot faster to find, your stats go down slower, and even some monsters are easier. In Normal mode everything is more difficult to find and everything drains faster, so it is challenging but fun. I also like that there is no hand holding with this game after the quick little tutorial so you have to figure it out on your own. If you are interested in this game but you are not really experienced with survival games, I would say to choose the Easy mode first so that you can get used to how the game plays and works first. Then when you feel you are ready you can play through it on Normal so that you can have that real challenge.
What I don't like is that they don't have controller support at all. I used a 360 controller to play this game and It did read the controller but the buttons were a little confusing because they are not set to fit the controller. The joystick moves your character but it is really stiff and the start button is the menu screen but you also have to use start button to cancel or go back. A is the main button but so is B and then the rest of the buttons don't do anything at all. It is so weird and awkward. You can't even change the buttons with Steam because the game doesn't read the overlay or custom controls. There is also no real fullscreen option by default and you have to press Alt+Enter to fullscreen, which may cause issues with your screen depending on your monitor like it does with mine. I had to use borderless gaming to play this game on fullscreen and cover the entire screen in widescreen. It stretches the game a little but it is much better than playing on a tiny window or in the middle of your screen with two big black bars on the sides especially when you have a big monitor. This also means there's no Steam screenshot support with this game either which kind of sucks. I really wish there was a map or that she can create a map of places she has been to because it would be better to know where your are in the map and can progress in the game since without a map it can get confusing sometimes on where to go or where you are. At least this game has fast travel.
Something that is really cool about this game and I like a lot is that you can customize your character and how she looks. When you first begin the game you get to choose how you want your elf to look, but even more choices later on with different kinds of clothes and gear. Of course this is a survival game so you have to craft everything and you have to get all the resources that you need for crafting whatever you want from the island and from all of the enemies on it. There is so much stuff you can make and this will make people that love collecting stuff, making things, and customizing your characters very happy. You also can repair and maintain everything that you make or find and you will have to so that things won't break and then you have to use more materials to craft them all over again. Plus you can set up bases at camps and make them bigger while creating more materials that you need to survive. At first it's going to be challenging for you to have enough to eat, drink and stay alive, but once you build up your camp you'll be able to set traps for animals to get meat, put up fishing nets to get fish, filter water to drink, and even light these things to make sure enemies stay away from that area. You can also have all these things happen while you're gone so it adds even more of a management sim to it. Everything you do will lead up to surviving, escaping the island and taking on that Leviathan.
Overall I really like this game a lot more than I expected to and I could play for hours and won't get bored of it. There is so much to explore and you have a lot to do and manage so make sure you stock up on food and water. Just remember that Easy mode is better for casual play and gamers that like that "hardcore survival" style should go for Normal mode and maybe will feel comfortable there. There's a patch for those that like a more "adult" experience but I play this game vanilla and don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. It doesn't have Steam achievements, trading cards (yet?), controller support, or proper fullscreen the way I think it should but none of that takes away from this game. It's just really fun and can be challenging if that's what you like. I really enjoyed it and this developer is coming out with another survival game early next year that I'm interested in now after playing this one. So if you like survival games, building or crafting then this game is for you! I highly recommend this one if you are up to the challenge for survival.

I can only half recommend this game
The thing is, is that the idea is really good and the early game is really fun but it just gets so needlessly grindy.
So, the gameplay
You basically crash on this island and try to make tools and other basic things like food and armor. Best food source has too be fishing honestly so just get a fishing rod.
There's no leveling up in this game instead progression is tied to armor. Which you know sounds really fun, you kill a bunch of stuff, make yourself some sexy clothes but uhm there are two major issues with the way the game tries to execute this.
1. As you go on the ingridients required for the next sets keep increasing and they require absurd amounts of grinding and fast traveling, I mean I'm not kidding for the bronze set I spent about an hour just running around and trying to figure out which tier 4 enemies dropped what and then getting those things. It's just stupid.
2.All the really sexy stuff are end game ♥♥♥♥. And just ??? How are you going to make an H-game but lock most of the hot costumes behind 10 hours of gameplay. And you dont even get to have them all at that point cause each one requires another few hours of grinding.
But....
despite all this the game indeed was really fun and some scenes were indeed really spicy. So it is really up to how much do you like grinding and survival games. But tbh the game is cheap and it is really easy to edit saves or use cheat engine with RPG maker so you could just skip the grind.

Woman was not created to be alone... Stranded, seek out others to join forces to defeat the evil, holding everyone captive on this remote island. But allies alone are NOT enough. You must hunt, fish, and gather vegetative materials for your survival. But clean food and water are only the beginning because crafting is KEY. You'll need protection by crafting and equipping yourself with swords, axes, armor, helmets, leather, swimsuits, tight miniskirts, bunny suits, high leg thighs, no-pants thighs, fishnet stockings, pasties, livestock tags, vulva tattoos, etc...

I'm still on my way of working on this game. It does have controller support but it's wonky on how it works. The controls are in the inventory once you figure out how to open it on the keyboard using the X key.
I had to remove the Xbox controller support then press F1 in game to options and remap keys to my liking...through trial and error got A mapped to Enter and B mapped to the X keyboard key.
Just this simple thing has already made things a lot better.
Updates to continue. Annoying workaround.

THE GAME
MECHANICS
Leviathan plays like a regular RPG Maker game, but tweaked for survival gameplay. You’ll need to manage your hunger, thirst, sleep and (optional) bladder, otherwise you’ll die. And dying – either from hunger or combat – most of the times means instant game over.
To get ahead in the game, there is a gathering/crafting system, as well as some very limited base building. Most of your time in the game will be spent hunting for crafting resources while carefully dodging or fighting monsters. This is actually quite challenging, particularly in the beginning of the game. Once you’ve upgraded your base camp and leveled some skills, it becomes easier to explore the (fairly expansive) map and progress the story,

STORY
You play as Chocolat, a female elf, who has been sent to the prison island Melviray for some unspecified reason. Melviray is populated by monsters and other convicts, and therefore a pretty dangerous place. Moreover, it is guarded by a humongous sea monster (hence the game’s name), which makes escaping impossible. Unless of course you manage to decipher some ancient mysteries hidden throughout the island, that may offer a solution.
Leviathan’s story is mostly lineair and pretty thin; don’t expect too much explanation or background on what’s happening. But it keeps you on the road, and I suppose that’s enough for this kind of game.
QUALITY
For an indy survival game, Leviathan works surprisingly well. The mechanics aren’t too elaborate, but the game progression is neatly balanced. There is quite a bit of grinding involved, but the game keeps you hooked by offering a broad range of increasingly powerful equipment to unlock. If you’re a completionist, you can easily sink a few dozen hours collecting it all.
THE GOODS
SUBJECT
Most of Leviathan’s lewd features Chocolat having sex with various monsters and NPC’s on the island. In addition, there are a few scenes sporting some other NPC’s. There’s not much progression to it; Chocolat enjoys sex right off the bat and may run into sexy encounters mere minutes into the game.

CONTENT
32 CG-based scenes. In addition, there is a large amount of costume pieces and accessories to craft and discover.
ACCESS
You’ll run into a number of lewd scenes as part of the main storyline; others you’ll have to discover yourself at various locations on the map. Moreover, certain monsters (indicated by a heart sign) will trigger a sex scene if you lose combat against them. After seeing a scene once, it remains available in the menu at your base camp.
QUALITY
Leviathan’s lewd is okay. Not too bad, not particularly good either. The artist sometimes seems to struggle a bit with drawing natural-looking body positions. There aren’t many scenes either. In fact, I enjoyed gathering / crafting the various outfits more than the lewd scenes themselves.
VERRO’S VERDICT
If you – like me – enjoy playing survival games, Leviathan is right up your alley. Don’t expect anything like Ark or Rust; it’s still an indy H-game, after all. But within the confines of that genre, Leviathan offers a nice change-of-pace from the dozens standard-issue RPG’s on the market. Don’t buy this if you’re looking for some quick lewd, though: Leviathan will have you working for your CG’s. But if you don’t mind that, you even may find yourself skipping the lewd so you can get on with the game itself. Recommended!
