Edit
You find yourself lost in a mine, the only objective is to find a way out. But something lurks in the shadows, following. Hunting you. Good luck.
It’s simply a game of cat and mouse. You can run and hide, but your ultimate goal is to find the key and escape the mine. While avoiding the monsters.
This project was a final for a game design program at a school, we are pushing it for feedback.

It's definitely important to consider what this game is when you go into it-- A project, made in a limited period of time, by a very small team. As such, it's just a short little proof of concept, and I beat it blindly within a few minutes. But for the price of free, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try!
Pros:
+ I liked the sound design a lot-- Silence, footsteps, and the 'creature' make sounds only. I personally found it more immersive than if there was music. The audio as a whole could perhaps be improved with some background sounds, like water dripping occasionally or the sounds of wind when you're close to the door, but I think that the lack of music is honestly a positive for this game.
+ The enemy isn't overbearing. When I encountered it, it could be outrun, and didn't pop up every few steps. I also enjoyed the style of it, in contrast to the modeled environment. It could perhaps be improved with cleaner edges and the removal of the white around the smaller eyes, but I thought the 2d clashed in a good way.
+ Despite being short and simple, I liked the level design. It feels as if it could be the introductory room to a larger cave system in an extended game, with all mechanics/controls tested out in the short time you spend in the game.
+ I noticed no glaring issues, such as spots on the map I could fall through or anything of that sort.
+ No jump scares.
+ Runs well, system requirements aren't much.
Cons:
- The game is definitely very, very dark, and if you get hit by the eyes, it becomes even harder to see. Turning your brightness up makes this a little less of a problem, but it comes at the cost of making the red around your vision when lower on health brighter too, reducing visibility even more if you're hit. I feel that a health bar may lower immersion, but I do think altering or changing the way damage is visualized could be an improvement.
- The lighter can be used to light the torches, but is sort of useless on its own. This makes it tough to fnd the torches.
Things I don't hold against the game:
~ The game is very short-- As I've said, it feels like a solid introductory level.
~ Having only one enemy type would get old in a longer game, but is completely fine for this shorter adventure. If extended, new enemies that behave/attack in different ways would be practically essential in my opinion, as the current enemy, while interesting, doesn't have any unique gameplay gimmics or anything.
~ The game has no story to it. Fine again for a proof of concept/project, of course, but if it was ever extended, I'd be curious as to how the mine was populated with such creatures, and how the player stumbled upon it.
All in all, it's definitely a solid little adventure. And while it could be left as is now, it also provides a solid starting place for a longer game with a more involved story, if the devs ever chose to expand it!

This is a fun little bit of exploration and cheesy monsters, absolutely worth the price of free and a few minutes of your time.

Okay. I have changed my initial review of this project, as there was something I was missing. With the new knowledge I have, I think this stands as it should.
What I mean is, given this is a school project, it's actually pretty good. The monster needs to be 'lurking' a little more, as I seem to run into it instantly every game, and I an leaving this just as some constructive critisism for the creator.
Well done, and good first try, I hope to see your improvements over time.
Good luck with it all.

I feel like I had just wasted two minutes of my life. However not completely; mainly because of what it was meant to do. Be a short game made for some laughs while also trying to be a scary game. Though not scary at all it still has some chezzy eye monster that slowly kills you if you don't move and also has one objective; get the key and get out. That is literally it. Find a key and then win. Overall if you're a person that likes to read reviews here ya go. On a little side note; I did find a glitch where the key wouldn't pop up whatsoever. I have no idea if that was the game or me but tada.

nice little project you got there, only complain is that the little eyes have this wierd white square arroud them and the monster sometimes gets stuck on the mines.
